tonywrestles2 Buzz vs. Damien--

Buzz high fived Alex and Jason as they returned to the locker room. "Fan-goddamn-tastic, boys!" he crowed. "This night's gonna go down in Lambda history!"

Meanwhile, in the ring, Kelly, serving as announcer for this match, took up the microphone. "Gentlemen and gentlemen!" he called, "this next match is our main event of the evening, for the campus championship." The crowd, stoked with beer and the intensity of the tag match, shook the roof with their cheers.

"Introducing first.....the challenger," which was not entirely true, since Buzz was both challenger and champion in this case--but Kelly glossed over that. "From the sunny shores of California, standing six feet and weighing in at two hundred ten pounds, he leads the beautiful people of Gamma Tau," Kelly's face twisted in disgust as he read from the card, and the crowd clearly echoed his sentiments, "I give you......Damien!!!!"

Damien strode from the dressing room wearing a silver warmup jacket and silver trunks. He acknowledged the cheers and boos with equanimity and vaulted easily into the ring, then settled into a corner to await his foe.

"And his opponent," Kelly continued, "from the great state of Kansas, standing a massive six foot four inches, and weighing two hundred forty-five power packed pounds, representing the men of Lambda Theta, he is the Simpson College champion, he.....is... BUZZ!!!!!"

The champion threw back the curtain and let the audience drink him in. He wore no jacket, and lime green trunks cut just short of pornographic. Every muscle was pumped and ready, and, as he strode to the ring and climbed into the ring, he had the air of a man who was going to enjoy what he was about to do.

Gerritt was the referee for the match. He gestured to Damien. "Are you ready?" Damien nodded. Gerritt asked Buzz, "Are you ready?" Buzz snarled an affirmative. Gerritt called for the bell!

The two men circled slowly, looking for an opening. Finally, they came together with a tremendous slap of flesh on flesh and locked up in a collar and elbow tie-up. Using his more massive body, Buzz easily bulled Damien into the ropes.

Somewhat surprisingly, Buzz broke cleanly when Gerritt told him to, and he and Damien circled again. They locked up a second time, somewhat less dramatically than last time, and once again Buzz bulled Damien into the ropes. However, this time, Buzz drove his knee into Damien's stomach, knocking the blonde man to his knees.

Buzz brought Damien back to his feet and straightened him up with a right uppercut that sent Damien's spit flying into the audience. "Watch the fists, Buzz!" Gerritt ordered, but Buzz had already headlocked Damien. He dragged Damien into the middle of the ring, but, with a tremendous heave, Damien sent Buzz into the ropes and dove for the floor. Buzz leaped over the prone Damien, but on the next rebound, Damien nailed Buzz right in the chops with a dropkick!

Buzz dove out of the ring to get his bearings, and Gerritt immediately started to count. "Back him up!" Buzz thundered, but Gerritt ignored him and continued to count. Buzz was back in the ring at "seven," and Damien charged in with a knee to the gut. He hurled Buzz into the ropes, and met him on the rebound with a clothesline that sprawled Buzz flat on his back.

Damien hauled him to his feet, hooked his head and arm, and brought him up and over with a suplex. Buzz flopped in pain as his back hit the mat hard. Damien dove on his man, and Gerritt flew across the ring. One...two....but Buzz kicked out before Gerritt got to three. Damien shrugged, dragged Buzz up, and went to town. Two right crosses left Buzz reeling, and a third sent him down and, for all the crowd knew, out.

Damien sprinted for the corner and climbed the buckles as quickly as he could. He whirled, leaped high in the air....and came crashing down on his knee as Buzz adroitly moved out of the way. Buzz grabbed a handful of hair, hauled Damien to his feet, and glowered at Gerritt as the ref slapped his hand away. He grabbed Damien's hair again, and punched him in the face with his free hand, then sent him into the ropes.

The clothesline almost 360'd Damien. Buzz climbed the corner, smirking as half the crowd urged him on and the other half tried to scream a warning to Damien. He launched himself into the air, and came down kneefirst onto Damien's chest. Damien felt like his ribcage was about to shatter. Buzz covered his man, and Gerritt began to count....but Damien just managed to kick out. Buzz backed off, and allowed Damien to get to his feet....and then hit him with a dropkick that astonished everyone watching.

Buzz climbed the corner again, this time intending to finish Damien off. He leaped, aiming his elbow at Damien's throat--but Damien wasn't there when Buzz got there, and his funny bone hit the mat. While he cradled his arm in pain, Damien got to his feet and dropped his own elbow to the back of Buzz's neck. Buzz tried to crawl away, but Damien followed him, and when Buzz turned, still on his knees, Damien nailed him with a low dropkick!

Damien dragged Buzz to his feet and snapmared him over, but just as Buzz hit the mat, he lashed out with both feet and got Damien just below the chin, sending the Californian staggering back. Buzz got to his feet and charged Damien, but Damien caught him with a roundhouse right and Buzz spun in place.

Damien scooped the big man up, and dropped him hard across his knee. Buzz howled as his spine nearly snapped in two. Damien covered, but once again could only get a two count. Grimacing in frustration, Damien grabbed Buzz's arm and clamped on an armbar.

But Buzz somehow managed to reverse the armbar, and Damien ended up flat on his back. Buzz got to his feet, still holding Damien's arm, and then dropped his leg on it. Damien howled in pain as his tendons screamed their protest.

In desperation, Damien grabbed one of Buzz's ankles and yanked, and Buzz, surprised, lost the armbar and went ass over teakettle to the mat. Damien pounced on him, but a fist to the face taught him better. The two exhausted warriors slowly staggered to their feet as the crowd roared its approval.

Buzz slammed a fist into Damien's gut that doubled him over, then slid his hand between Damien's legs. Maybe he was going for a bodyslam, maybe a backbreaker. Maybe Damien shifted his weight an inch too far, maybe Buzz didn't have as much left as he thought he did.

Because Buzz collapsed, with Damien on top of him.

Gerritt's hand slapped the mat once.

Twice.

And then a third time.

And suddenly, every throat in the room went silent.

Damien blinked once, then twice. Beneath him, equally dumbfounded, lay Buzz. Gerritt sat back on his haunches, looking at the two men before him as if he couldn't quite believe what had happened. And Scott, every muscle in his body trembling, brought Damien the gold championship belt. Damien saw a pair of hands reach out to take it, but somehow couldn't believe that they were his.

As soon as Damien's hands touched the championship belt, a lone voice--Shane, from the accent--began to scream with wild cheers. Shane was soon joined by Mike, then by the rest of Gamma, then by the rest of the crowd. With one hand clutching the belt and another being raised by Gerritt, Damien drank in the riotous cheers of the crowd.

A tap on his shoulder made him whirl, and Buzz was there. He wrapped his massive arms around Damien, but to congratulate him. "Good fight, guy," he whispered, "but I'm gonna get that belt back where it belongs!"

"Anytime, job-boy," Damien grinned back.

The men of Gamma Tau swarmed the ring like excited bees. Damien was lofted onto their shoulders and paraded around the ring, before being carried back to the dressing room in a triumphant procession.
