Thursday Before The Event jimsub81
Dane, Joey and Wesley conferred after the challenge was made and accepted. The big question was who was going to be the fourth member of their tag team. Dane was right in that there was no shortage of finding volunteers who wanted a piece of Kevin or one or more of his pals. Since there was already one member from each weight class represented; Heavyweight Dane, Middleweight Joey, and lightweight Wesley the last member could be any one of Dane's choosing. Toby and Benji were eager to get another crack at the nasty guys but Dane politely told them that although he admired their spunk he needed someone with a bit more power and size to assure a win. The lightweights understood completely and wished them well. Falcon was a promising choice but he was as yet really unproven in the ring. The leading contender for the slot was Keegan's tag team partner Ross. Ross was an accomplished wrestler and had a personal stake in the match as Martin had really hurt Keegan and Ross was looking to extract some revenge which gave him a lot of motivation. Dane was just about to tell Ross he was in when Joey asked if he could see if Daryl was interested in joining them. All were a bit hesitant as Daryl had never shown any interest in being part of ANY team. In fact the only wrestler he ever even showed a liking to was the young, blond, muscle boy Joey. Joey persisted and all had to agree that if they could land Daryl as the fourth man that they would truly have an impressive team. Dane gave Joey the go ahead. A few minutes later Joey returned with a down look on his face. "Didn't go well huh?, asked Wesley. But then following Joey was the big African american bodybuilder. Joey couldn't hold back his smile any longer and his team members stood up to welcome Daryl. "What do you say big man?", asked Dane. Daryl replied, "I say I'm ready to bust some wig." The team was elated. A win Saturday seemed a sure thing.
Meanwhile, the other tag team met also. Kevin had decided that he would represent the lightweight division, Martin the middleweights and Brett would be the fourth man. Kevin assured the team that as far as the heavyweight went ,"He had it covered". The members of the team tried to get him to tell who he had lined up but he remained tight lipped. "Just relax", he kept saying. "You won't be sorry". He just grinned at them and they actually wondered if there was indeed a fourth member yet still they trusted him. And they had to admit, Kevin seemed very calm and confident.
For both teams Saturday came very fast.
