Corwin&Drew the day before the match jimsub81

Drew had his head down as he listened to Corwin go on about their recent training sessions. What once were intense practice sessions with the tag team champs going all out against each other had turned into a disorganized "tag team boot camp". The friendly middleweight Patrick had asked if Corwin and Drew would work with himself and Elton as they were about to explore the world of tag wrestling. The champs agreed as a good sparring session against another team was always good practice. But then Patrick felt sorry for the brother team of Jessie and Jack. He asked if the brothers could join in some practice too. Again the Champs agreed even though Corwin didn't particularly care for Jessie. And now Joey and Daryl were hanging around too during what Corwin and Drew had previously looked forward to as "their time."

"I'm telling you Drew this has gone on long enough. Sure, we need to work out with other teams now and then but we need to practice our moves too." Drew looked up sheepishly at his partner and best friend. Drew knew Corwin was right. They had not practiced for themselves in over a week, and since they lacked the size and muscle of some of the other TW tag teams snapping at their heels, they had to maintain a perfect sense of unity with each other which could only come from constant work with each other. Corwin continued, "Don't get me wrong, I like all these guys we've been training" Drew raised an eyebrow and Corwin confessed, "OK well maybe I don't like Jessie that much, but I DON'T HATE HIM! Listen Drew, we have a match against Keith and Rich tomorrow. And you know as well as I do they are WAY better than their record shows." Drew knew that was true too as he remember the singles match he had against Rich. The big boy had manhandled Drew pretty good that evening. Corwin went on, "Listen I like Patrick but we gotta tell him he can't do this anymore. I mean every time we turn around he's bringing another wrestler around or a tag team or some puppy he found on the way home over to us for help!" Corwin was the more animated and volatile one and he was really on a roll now. Drew was the quite voice of reason in their relationship but he couldn't deny that Corwin was making a lot of sense right now. The tag champs sought out Patrick and told him they would be more than happy to spar with he and Elton or ONE other team from time to time but the overcrowded training sessions had to stop. Patrick looked a little hurt as he realized he had unwittingly taken advantage of their kindness. They both told him they held nothing against him or any of the guys they were helping but they had to get back to their regular drills. Patrick said that he understood and apologized. He left them to go find his new friend Joey for some more practice at home.

The next day arrived quickly and the teams were ready to be introduced. Both stood near the aisle on opposite sides. Drew was always so calm and collected but Rich just knew how to get under Drew's skin. And Rich knew it too! He looked over at Drew. When Drew made eye contact Rich made his "kissy face" and licked his lips suggestively at him. Drew began to boil inside but showed no sign of the act bothering him. But Rich KNEW it did.

Patrick had explained to Joey what Corwin and Drew had said to him and Joey felt as bad as Patrick did about distracting the tag team champs who he also considered friends. He would apologize to them after their match which he and Patrick were settled in to watch.

"Our next match is a tag team event. First, at a combined weight of 356 pounds.... KEITH AND RICH!" The cocky boys entered to a hail of boos and a few laughs. They were never well liked but their recent "fluke" loss to Jessie and Jack had made them a bit of a laughing stock too. They really seemed not to care as they posed for the crowd and made exaggerated expressions of awe and wonder as each took turns watching as the other posed. "And, their opponents, at a combined weight of 327 pounds, the reigning TW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, CORWIN AND DREW!" The wildly popular duo entered with their typical look of intensity as they raced down the aisle at top speed. In their customary fashion they leapt over the top rope. Drew landed perfectly but Corwin's foot just barely caught the top rope and he fell face first to the mats. A slight "ooohh" was heard for the crowd as Drew helped up the embarrassed Corwin. Rich and Keith clapped hard and exaggeratedly at the faux pax. The announcer continued as Corwin dusted himself off, "This is a non-title match and has a thirty minute time limit." The bell rang as Drew started off against his arch nemesis Rich...

Rich continued with his suggestive body language toward Drew making him angrier and angrier. When he pressed Drew's button with a "kissy face" and an eye wink Drew lunged at Rich and the big teen sidestepped as he raised a foot to Drew's left ribs. Drew went sprawling to his right landing right into the enemy corner. Drew got up fast and moved to get back to the center of the squared circle. A few onlookers were surprised Keith had not tried any sort of cheap shot on Drew. But as Drew moved Keith reached out and grabbed his foot. Keith proved true to form after all!

Drew hit the mats face first and Rich leapt on him quickly landing an elbow across the back of his head forcing Drew's face into the mats again! Keith let go of the foot and Rich hauled Drew up by his long hair. Drew shot a punch into Rich's big torso to little effect. Rich raised a huge knee into Drew's chest sending him back first to the mats. Rich went to drop another elbow and Drew rolled away to avoid the fall and make the tag. But he rolled the wrong way and blindly stuck out his hand to Keith! Keith grabbed the offering and held on to it as he jumped down off the apron. Drew's arm pit was crushed into the top rope as Keith held his hand far below. Rich went to work laying in big boot stomp after big boot stomp to the exposed back.

As the referee neared his count on Keith the sneaky boy let go just as Rich pulled Drew back into a reverse suplex. Drew's upper back and neck landed hard on the mats. Drew managed to take a weak swipe at Rich which didn't connect as the 191 pound Rich hauled Drew up in an over the shoulder back breaker. He tagged Keith and Keith climbed the ropes to enter with a hard shot to Drew's totally exposed midsection. Corwin had seen enough and knew Drew was in trouble and he charged the back of Rick. Keith yelled, "Watch out behind you." Rich went down to his knees sending a jolt through the stretched Drew. Keith then entered but not on Drew. He was in a perfect position to slam Corwin with a flying forearm off the top rope. Keith's strong arm slammed hard into Corwin's muscled chest. All breath was driven from Corwin as Keith followed to land on top of him. Keith shot a punch to Corwin's navel as he got up. The referee was ushering the winded Corwin out.

Keith and Rich took the opportunity to double team poor Drew. While Rich was still on his knees holding him in his backbreaker Keith drove punch after punch into the taunt and helpless abs of the lean boy. Drew was really feeling the punches dig in and he REALLY felt it when Keith delivered one from the top rope. The hard fist drove in deep and Drew thought he was going to be sick. Rich dropped Drew unceremoniously to the mats as the ref got him out too.

Keith took up where Rich had left off and stomped down hard on Drew's stomach. He then grabbed Drew's arm and held it out straight. Keith then began laying in kicks to Drew's chest. Drew knew he was getting the crap pounded out of him and had to tag out soon. He managed to shoot a kick of his own into Keith's ribs and break the hold. He rolled to Corwin and made the tag.

Corwin was eager to get in and charged at Keith who no only bravely stood his ground but took Corwin down in an arm drag. He came in right behind and drove a knee to the back and hammered Corwin across the back of the neck with a knife edge. He quickly came round front of the Corwin and kicked the point of his boot into the pit of the stomach of the sitting boy. Corwin was really winded as Keith made the tag to Rich and went around the back of Corwin again and pulled him up into a reverse DDT. He slammed the backside of Corwin's head to the mats. As the more muscled half of the tag team champions lay stunned and dazed Rich entered the ring via the top rope driving all of his 191 pounds into an elbow drop to Corwin's lower gut. Corwin really felt the blow and he rolled over clutching his stomach. Rich kicked the Champ a few times in the back and pulled him to his feet. Rich then laid in a series of forearm blasts to the head and chest that had Corwin backpedaling to a corner. Rich then rammed a hard fist into the breadbasket and Corwin completely winded him. Rich spun him around and grabbed two fistfuls of salon treated hair and powered the handsome face into the upper turnbuckle. The audience DID NOT count along as Rich hit the count of ten.

A dazed Corwin sank to his knees and Rich scooped him up into a slam. He held Corwin's body weight rather easily as he paraded around the ring showing off his "capture prize." Drew had recovered enough to see that now Corwin was in real trouble he charged as Rich had his back turned. Keith was doing his job and had been watching Drew. He shouted out to Rich, "Behind you!". Rich turned quickly and blindly threw Corwin who went slamming into his partner as he mounted his rescue mission. Corwin's hard, 162 pound form hit Drew squarely across the torso and fell on top of Drew to the mats.

Rich was truly an underrated fighter. He didn't have the ripped form of a Stephen or a Daryl but he sure as hell had strength! He rolled Corwin off Drew and stood between both boys now on their backs and came dropping down with a double elbow drop to each partner's stomach! He then pulled up both by the hair and brought their heads together in a noggin knocker! He let go and both the champs fell like sacks of potatoes. He knew Corwin was the legal man so he picked up Drew and effortlessly tossed him out of the ring! He scooped up Corwin and crotch slammed him and the pulled him by the arms over to Keith and made the tag. Rich positioned Corwin over his knees in a backbreaker and Keith entered from the top of the corner planting BOTH elbows into the exposed belly. Rich dumped Corwin for Keith to handle.

Everyone watching, including Patrick and Joey, could not believe that Corwin and Drew were not just losing but being SQUASHED. Patrick was really feeling guilty now and he began to blame himself for their lack of execution in the ring. Joey reassured him that he had seen the duo down before and they had come back but even he didn't believe his own words. This was really bad and he knew it.

Keith pulled the battered Corwin to his feet and raised a knee to the gut. He appeared to be able to do whatever he wanted to him so he grabbed an arm and Irish whipped him to a corner. Corwin hit hard on his back and Keith rushed into to squash him. Keith powered all of his 165 pounds into a shoulder drive and hurled himself at Corwin. His shoulder ram connected and smashed Corwin into the turnbuckles. The beaten Corwin slumped down the corner. Keith got up and shot a kick that landed on the sternum. He then pulled Corwin up into a suplex and dropped him hard! Keith stood up over his victim. Corwin hated to resort to it but he was fighting for survival now and he brought a foot up into Keith's balls dropping him. Keith was hurt yet stumbled toward Rich faster than Corwin could drag himself to Drew.

Rich entered and caught Corwin by the foot just as he was about to tag out. He pulled Corwin back to the center of the ring and dropped a knee to the back causing Corwin to grunt in pain. He then turned him over to his back and spread wide his legs. Rich decided to get even with Corwin for his shot on Keith and brought the sole of his big boot down on Corwin's groin. Corwin gasped and rolled clutching his aching package. As Rich moved toward him he looked to Drew and said, "Guess what you WON'T be doing tonight?" Drew stood there and fumed but there was nothing he could do at the moment.

Rich pulled Corwin up and slammed a fist into the belly doubling him over. He walked Corwin over to Keith and tagged him in. Together they each took an arm and whipped him to the ropes. As Corwin rebounded Rich swept his feet out from behind and Keith drove a body block to the chest. The result was devastating as Corwin was slammed with awesome force to the mats. The whole ring shook from the impact. Rich exited and Keith covered. As the referee began his count Drew rushed in to save the loss but Rich saw him coming and intercepted him with a clothesline across the throat laying him out. The referee's hand hit the mat a third time and the audience could not believe what had just transpired. The bell rang and the announcer came on and said, "Here are your winners...KEITH AND RICH!"Rich and Keith danced and strutted around the ring but they had reason to celebrate. They had managed to defeat the team that many thought was the "perfect" tag team. Drew was helping Corwin up and the victors began taunting them. Rich even slapped Drew's cheek in a playful way yet sent a clear message; he didn't like Drew at all. Drew wanted to rip Rich's head off but knew he had to tensed to his partner first. All he knew he had to get himself and Corwin away from the celebrating winners. But they blocked their exit apparently wanting taunt the Champs more. Patrick could not stand to watch any more and got up. Joey knew exactly what he was thinking and followed him into the ring. They positioned themselves between the two teams and Rich said, "Well well well, what have we here? A couple of little boys who want to play?" Drew was grateful for the assist but a little embarrassed to have to accept it and got Corwin out of the ring and back to the locker room.

For the first time Patrick got a real good look at Rich. Rich was big and towered over him and Joey. He chest was sweaty and heaving and worse yet he still was high on energy after the match in which he suffer no damage at all. Rich was a formidable power indeed that could probably intimidate a few heavyweights. Rich was like the school bully and Keith was his toady little side kick who was quite tough in his own right. But Joey and Patrick stood their ground and didn't say a word till Corwin and Drew were clear. "I think the cat's got their tongue Rich", said Keith in an insulting tone. Patrick and Joey had spoiled Rich's fun at Corwin and Drew's expense and he was furious at them and said, "The cat may have their tongue but I have their heads!" At that he struck out and grabbed both boys by the scruff of the neck before either could react. And, just as he did in the match, Rich slammed their heads to together in a noggin knocker that put both of them to the canvas. As they held their heads with both arms Rich said to them, "Next time don't interfere where you don't belong!" He shot a kick to Patrick's ribcage as if to drive the point home while Keith planted his boot into Joey's belly. The winners exited to a hail of boos. Yet they had done what they had come to do and that was win!

Following the match and the encounter afterward the crowd was settling down and back in the locker room Corwin had recovered and was furious. "I can't believe this. We lost and we didn't just lose we got hammered. You see what happens when you don't focus?" Drew nodded in silent agreement. "We should have mopped up on those guys and instead we end up looking like Jobbie and Joke." Ordinarily Corwin would not use derogatory terms like that but now he was filled with emotion and didn't think before speaking. Jessie was in the next aisle over and heard the comment and turned to corner and let go of what he had been holding in for a long time, "So at last it comes out, doesn't it Corwin?" Corwin was still rattled and just looked at him and said, "Huh?" Jessie continued, "I know you never liked me too much but I always though you at least respected us. I guess that's not true. Yeah, me and Jack may not be the best tag team around but we did beat the team YOU TWO just lost to!" Corwin was incredulous. Was this kid trying to say that he and his inept brother were on the same plain as he and Drew? Drew chimed in he grabbed Corwin from making a lunge at Jessie and said, "Take it easy Cor. and YOU!", pointing at Jessie, "Back off!" Corwin strained to get at Jessie but Drew held him tight. Corwin said, "Anytime you and your brother want a match we'll be happy to give you one. What's another loss at this point!?" Drew just said, "Come on Corwin don't be like this." Corwin heard what Drew as saying and relaxed a little. But Jessie thought about what he had heard and just seen in the ring and said, "Hey Corwin how about this? You and me one on one?", Corwin looked up at him and said, "You're on!"
