Joey Vs Patrick...the Beginning jimsub81
A few days after HB & Kane had reclaimed their tag team jackets Joey and his good friend Patrick were working out in the TW gym. They, like everyone else, was still talking about the match. Both Joey and Patrick were good friends of Corwin and Drew and were a bit sad at seeing them lose. Patrick said that Corwin and Drew had to accept some responsibility for their own loss as Corwin had made the arrangements when he was not fully ready following the lumbejack match against Jessie. And worse still Corwin knew he wasn't ready! Patrick did not know it yet but he had just struck a nerve with Joey in mentioning the lumberjack match that Corwin was so badly beaten in.
Both Patrick and Joey had been part of Corwin's lumberjacks but Patrick had a friendship with Corwin's opponent Jessie too. When Jessie was tossed out of the ring Patrick took the high road and simply tossed Jessie back into the ring taking no "extra" shot to him. Joey was a bit puzzled as it was "common knowledge" that an extra hit to your team's opponent was the whole reason for being there really. Jessie's lumberjacks were not nearly as upstanding and totally destroyed Corwin allowing Jessie to win the match easily. Corwin's injuries were the root cause of his submitting in the tag team title bout.
Joey pointed out that had Patrick damaged Jessie a little Corwin would have stood a better chance and all the resulting events could have been quite different. Patrick countered that if BOTH sets of lumberjack had behaved as he had Corwin would most likely would have won as the cheap shots would never have happened. Joey was getting mad now and said, "But Patrick, that's the POINT of a lumberjack match. That's what people expect and what the other guys DID! We..no YOU cost Corwin that match. I can't believe you were that stupid!" Patrick had listened intently to Joey's arguments up to that point and he half believed what his blonde haired muscleteen friend was saying. But when Joey, who could barely understand the rules of the card game "War", called him, the boy who was on the fast track to class valedictorian "stupid" it was just too much. "You are calling ME stupid? Lets not forget Joey who's barely passing general classes while I'm taking Calc 2 with the advanced class." Joey had a thick skin and could handle almost and insult but cracks about his IQ really bothered him. He KNEW he was not the brightest kid but he did try and when his friend pointed out his lack of brain power he became enraged.
Joey drove a forearm into Patrick sending him down hard. Elton and Daryl had been nearby and when they heard their friend's voices raise in real anger they took notice. And when Joey threw the forearm Daryl and Elton interceded quickly Daryl catching Patrick from retaliating and Elton holding Joey fast. Joey and Patrick were now really angry at each other and exchanged some more barbs with Joey's best come back a simple. "Oh Yeah, well, I know you are but what am I?" Jacoby saw the encounter and knew the two boys were fast friends and quickly saw an opportunity to meddle in someone's life again and quickly went off to get a blank contract.
After Daryl and Elton had calmed the situation a little Jacoby showed up with the contract and presented it to the now silent but still fuming teens. "Why don't you two settle this in the ring? If you really want to kick each other's butts why not put that energy to good use?" Elton was about to tell Jacoby to get lost when both Joey and Patrick jumped up so fast to sign the contract that they almost tore it in half. After the paper was signed Jacoby took it to the office. Joey and Patrick each went their separate ways in a huff. Daryl and Elton just looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. Both older teens knew that whatever was going to happen was going to happen and there was nothing they could do to stop it.
The night of the event was upon them and Joey and Patrick had not seen each other in 3 days. Each had time to think about what the other had said to him and their anger toward each other grew. They stood near the aisle waiting to be introduced. If looks could kill both boys would have been dead a dozen times over. They drilled holes into each other with their stares. Daryl and Elton stood close by to keep the peace. At last the announcer came on and said, And now our next match is a middleweight match up. First standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing in at 160 pounds...PATRICK!' Patrick entered the ring to loud applause. Ever since his debut he had become a fan favorite. And the young ladies loved his cute "baby face". He a look of seriousness and determination. Patrick was still so angry at Joey for questioning his loyalties and his wrestling ability he was having a hard time seeing straight. He was going to show Joey just how "well schooled" in wrestling he really was. "And, his opponent, also standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and also weighing in at 160 pounds...JOEY!" Clad in his skimpy bright orange bikini Joey raced to the ring. The crowd had loved him for a long time and they showed it with rousing applause. He hopped into the ring. He didn't show his typical smile as he was equally intent on his mission. He was going to make Patrick sorry for his comments on his lack of mental prowess. The two identically sized teens squared off and. Both were well built with Joey having just a bit of an edge in tone but Patrick was not far behind. They looked at each other with jaws clenched and eyes staring. The bell rang...
Both boys were so intent of demolishing the other they came out literally flying at each other as each chose to start with a cross body block. They slammed into each other in midair and both fell to the mats hard. Patrick had taken a hit to his right shoulder and Joey to his left pec. Even though hurting they quickly closed on each other again locking up collar and elbow. But while they pushed along their upper bodies they were both kicking away at the other's legs trying to trip up the other. They were almost running around the ring pushing and kicking. It was just a matter of time till one fell over. It was Patrick who lost his balance first. He fell backward and Joey landed right on top of him. With Patrick flat on his back Joey rammed a fist into the hard abs. The muscles absorbed the blow but Patrick's insides did vibrate a little as Joey could hit like a truck!
Joey heard Patrick grunt and got up to his knees grabbing a fistful of blonde hair pulling Patrick up too. He raised a knee to the stomach yet Patrick did not bend. Joey was surprised that Patrick not only didn't double over but swung his arm in a clothesline. Joey ducked the arm and came up inside the reach and shot a quick jab to the lower gut. Patrick grunted but still did not bend. Patrick then reached out and grabbed Joey's head. He went to raise a knee to the chest but Joey saw it coming and caught the knee just before impact. With Patrick now hopping on one foot Joey powered the off balance teen easily into the turnbuckle.
Patrick hit with a crash and Joey released the leg. He then rammed his heavily muscled shoulder into Patrick's chest over and over. Ten times Joey crushed Patrick against the corner and Patrick sagged under the assault. Joey laid in a stomp to the stomach and reached down and side hip tossed Patrick back to ring center. Patrick sat with his head spinning. Joey had taken it to him hard and now the bikini clad boy stood in front of him preparing to dish out some more punishment. Patrick knew he had to mount an offensive or this was going to be a short match. As Joey bent to lift him Patrick reached out and grabbed Joey's legs pulling back hard and sending Joey to his back!
Patrick was reenergized by the move and leapt on Joey driving his knee into the tough ab muscles. As he knelt on him. Joey felt the bony knee cap sink into him and winced in pain. Patrick "bounced" on the stomach a few times and Joey thrashed his arms under the attack. Patrick got off him and Joey sat forward only to have a hard forearm slam into his chest knocking him back down again. Patrick got to his feet quickly and grabbed Joey's left ankle raising it up while at the same time driving a kick into the right thigh. Patrick twisted the leg and Joey was forced to roll with it as he wound up on his stomach. Patrick turned and dropped a knee down into the small of the back and Joey pounded the mats in pain. Patrick got up and Joey rolled over to try to halt the assault but instead he found Patrick's elbow slamming into his strong pecs.
Patrick was fast a lightning as he got to his feet again and dropped another elbow. But He tried the move one too many times to nail the experienced Joey who rolled away causing Patrick to connect with nothing but mat. He was slightly stunned from the impact but when Joey swung a heavy arm over and smacked him across the back of the head Patrick was really seeing stars. Joey moved over top of Patrick who rolled on the canvas holding both arms over his aching head. Joey shot a hard kick to the back that put the other boy down flat. Joey then grabbed both of Patrick's arms and yanked him upward. With his head still spinning he was little able to prevent Joey from shoving him face first into the turnbuckles. Patrick's strong torso slammed the buckles hard and Joey's driving weight behind him intensified the impact. Patrick was instantly winded and Joey grabbed a handful of Patrick's blue wrestling trunks and hoisted him skyward in a suplex. Joey simply fell backward and allowed gravity to do it job on Patrick's upper back as it crashed into the canvas. Patrick was reeling and Joey was on fire as he snatched up Patrick in a crotch slam and deposited him hard!
Joey was clearly in the drivers seat and decided to set up his finisher. He stomped the gut and scooped Patrick up and slammed him again. Patrick was in a world of hurt and Joey leapt up on the second rope and bounced off it turning in air to deliver his splash. Somehow Patrick saw the move and raised his knee up. Joey's stomach landed on the up turned knee and it drove deep into his guts! Joey rolled off to his side in a curled pile of hurting flesh. Patrick was terribly winded to but managed to regain his feet.
Joey was near the ropes and Patrick grabbed the top rope and used it to leverage himself up as he brought his booted feet down onto Joey's left ribs. Joey winced and rolled but Patrick was able to land a well aimed kick into those same ribs. Joey rolled again and Patrick went to kick again but missed. Joey continued to roll away and managed to slide out of the ring to the floor to catch his breath. He turned and walked along the ring as the referee counted him He took careful note of the count to avoid the DQ. Patrick knew that he held the advantage and allowing Joey to regroup was a very bad idea. He jumped out of the ring too and came at Joey from behind who had made a crucial mistake of taking his eyes off his opponent. Patrick spun Joey around and drove the heel of his hand into the left ribs. Jot let out a lound "Aaaackkk!" and doubled over. Patrick then raised a knee into the wounded chest and Joey was feeling some severe pain in his ribs. Patrick then tossed him back into the ring ending his attempt to recover.
Joey was slowly getting to his feet when Patrick reentered the ring via a leap off the top rope. Joey turned only to see the ripped torso of Patrick slam into his own. Joey went back hard and Patrick covered him making an attempt to hook the leg. But Joey;s bare skinned leg was covered in sweat and Patrick could not get a grip. The referee counted to two and Joey managed to kick out with more authority than Patrick expected. Joey rolled to stand but Patrick was still more able to maneuver. While on his hands and knees Joey felt Patrick's boot slam into his left rib cage. Joey flipped over to his back clutching at his hurting chest.
Patrick stood over Joey's head and reached down to grab his head but Joey flung both his legs backward and locked Patrick's head in a perfect set of scissors pulling him down to the mats. Patrick was in terrible pain as Joey's muscular legs crushed into either side of his head! Patrick thrashed and groaned. The referee asked if he submitted but Patrick voiced an authoritative, "NO!" Patrick clawed at the hard and sweaty legs in a vain attempt to pry them lose a bit. It was futile as Joey had the scissors lock in tight. Patrick knew he had to break the hold soon or the match would be Joey's. He struggled to reach the ropes with his left toe. It was just inches away! Joey increased the pressure and Patrick felt Joey's knees digging into his jaw. He thought he could not take anymore but he endure a few more seconds and pulled himself toward the ropes ever so slightly. The referee saw his intent and watched the foot closely. Patrick managed to touch the rope just barely and the referee ordered Joey to release him.
Joey knew he had been close to a submission and got up yelling at the referee. Patrick was almost out as he struggled to get up. Joey realized arguing with the referee was pointless and turned back on his opponent.
He pulled Patrick up and slammed a strong forearm blast to the chest. He stumbled back as Joey followed landing two more forearms before grabbing his arm and whipping him to the ropes. Patrick was still reeling from the head scissors and could not halt the move. Joey stuck out a foot and allowed Patrick's upper abdomen to ram into it. Patrick was halted dead in his tracks and stumbled backward stopping when he reached the ropes. Joey pressed his attack and charged landing a clothesline to the upper chest and flipping Patrick over the top rope and to the arena floor! Patrick landed on his back and Joey pursued like a man on a mission. He jumped off the apron and came down of Patrick's belly with both feet. All of Patrick's air was driven from his lungs at the blow. Joey grabbed Patrick by the hair and pulled him to his feet. He grabbed an arm and Irish whipped him across the area in front of the ring and sent Patrick's upper body slamming into the ring apron. He came in behind driving a knee into Patrick's lower back. Patrick slumped but Joey caught him and tossed him back into the ring.
Elton and Daryl were watching with more and more concern. They knew that Patrick and Joey had been angry at each other but they could tell that the two were going at each other with a fury. Elton and Daryl both though this match could get out of hand and feared one or both of their friends could wind up hurt.
Joey looked down and saw Patrick still not quite enough recovered to put up much of a fight. Or so he thought. He bent over to grab Patrick and the downed boy instead reached up and caught Joey's head and pulled him down and over into a small cradle. Joey was taken totally off guard as the referee began pounding the mat. Joey kicked and struggled and just before the ref's hand hit for a third time Joey kicked out. He had just dodged a bullet and he knew it!
Patrick was now to his feet as Joey got to his. Joey lunged with an outstretched arm and Patrick ducked under the clothesline shooting a fist to that same tender area on Joey's ribs. Joey gasped at the pain as Patrick had really been doing well at hitting the same area on the left side of his ribcage. Joey tried not to let on he was hurt there but Patrick knew he was. Patrick feinted a move and Joey dodged sideways. Patrick then dropped down and took Joey down with a leg take down. Joey landed face first and Patrick knelt down straddling Joey's head between his knees. He held Joey's head securely with his knees and leaned forward and clamped on a claw on that tender side of the cute muscleteen's chest!
Patrick could hear Joey's muffled cry from under his thighs. Joey's feet were kicking wildly as Patrick forced more and more pressure into his claw hold. The long fingers were digging into the chest muscle and putting some serious hurt to the tender ribs. Patrick realized that if Joey did submit the ref would not hear it as he was muffled by Patrick's own legs. Patrick moved aside and Joey felt a relaxation in the hold and he jerked himself free and rolled away.
Joey was staggering to his feet holding his side and Patrick charged at him. Joey turned his good side into the charging boy and caught Patrick in the sternum with a shoulder block. Patrick went down hard and fast and Joey dropped down with a knee to the belly. Patrick grunted and looked up just as Joey was dropping another knee. Patrick rolled but not fast or far enough and Joey's knee blasted his gut one more time! Joey was still favoring his left side but still managed to pull Patrick up to his feet. Joey held Patrick's arm outstretched and brought a roundhouse kick up and around catching Patrick flat across the chest sending his to the mats hard back first. Joey held the arm and twisted it attempting to flip Patrick over to his stomach. Patrick knew that in his almost exhausted state he would probably not escape the arm bar if Joey were allowed to lock it in. Patrick endured a few more moments of the painful arm twist before landing a well aimed kick once again to Joey's left side. Pain went shooting through Joey's whole upper body and he let go of Patrick's arm.
Joey was leaning against the ropes in obvious pain. Patrick was holding on to the opposite ropes trying in vain to ease the pain out of his shoulder Joey had just twisted so badly. The two boys let go of the ropes and charged each other. Each landed a clothesline and both boy's legs went flying out from under them as each hit the mats with a resounding thud!
Both were winded and near exhaustion as the match had gone on for 20 minutes now. Both teens were weary and sweat covered as they gradually got to their feet. Each had a tender spot they knew they had to protect. Patrick drove an uppercut into Joey's lower belly just above the band of his sweat soaked bikini. He grunted and rammed a spearing punch of his own to Patrick's midsection. Patrick was stunned at the power Joey still possessed as the punch doubled him slightly. Joey knew he had just hurt his foe and went to land another. Patrick saw Joey pull his arm back and knew another punch was coming. He sidestepped and Joey's momentum took him forward passing Patrick who caught Joey from behind with a head lock. In a flash he took Joey down in a less than perfect reverse DDT! Joey had got an arm down to block the move a little but it did have about 50% of its effectiveness. amazingly Joey sat up almost instantly but Patrick was able to grab both of Joey's arms pulling them tight behind his back. At the same time Patrick wrapped both legs around Joey's chest and cinched in his scissors!
Patrick's left knee bone was digging directly into that tender spot in Joey's ribs. Joey gasped as the pain was incredible but there was now way he was going to lose to this boy, his one time best friend that had insulted him so badly. Patrick pulled back on Joey's arms and squeezed his legs tighter. He knew he was hurting Joey but he wanted this win a lot. Joey had insulted his integrity and his made less than kind remarks about his wrestling ability. He wanted to prove to Joey just how wrong he had been to criticize his wrestling skill.
Joey was in a bad way and with his arms held fast behind his back he had little offensive moves open to him. Patrick held the arms secure and reached down and applied more pressure into his scissors. Joey threw his head back and had a look of sheer agony on his face. His muscular stomach heaved as his stretched body was racked with pain from Patrick's scissors. He kicked the mats harmlessly as Patrick reached down for the last of his reserves. He applied just a bit more pressure and at last Joey could take no more. "Oh..Oh god, I give, please I give up." The bell sounded and Patrick released Joey who fell to his side clutching his aching ribs. The announcer came on and said, "Here is your winner by submission...PATRICK!" The crowd gave him a hearty round of applause. Joey may have been a slight fan favorite before the match but the crowd knew they had just seen two boys go all out and give them one hard fought match. As Patrick had his arms raised in victory he looked to see Joey getting to his knees. It seemed that now that the emotions of the match were suddenly over so too was his animosity for Joey. Patrick knew he was more intellectually gifted than Joey but felt terrible for pointing out that Joey was so far behind him in that arena. Patrick felt like a real jerk for saying what he did. Joey realized Patrick had won the match fair and square and he appreciated Patrick's ability. He always had admired Patrick's skill and he felt guilty for saying otherwise as he was just being petty and he now realized it.
Their eyes met and both had tears well up and Patrick offer Joey a hand that Joey took gladly. Patrick pulled him up a right into a hug being careful of the hurt ribs. As they embraced Joey snuffled out, "Am sorry man. I really am. I never meant what I said!" Patrick too was filled with emotion and through some sniffles said, "Me too man! I'm really sorry. I'm such a jerk!"
Elton and Daryl had been standing, as had the rest of the audience, toward the end of the match. But now they sat back down to their seats and breathed a sigh of relief. Apparently things were back to normal.
