punk_wrestler2000: Settling Differences: Kane & Corwin:
The day following
As Corwin and Drew headed home following the ten teen tag match, Drew was unusually quiet.
Corwin knew his partner had taken quite a beating, but he knew that was not the reason for his quiet demeanor.
Corwin had also heard the cheers of "Whip the Fag" as they had resounded through the TW arena this evening.
When they arrived at Drew's apartment the two friends helped each other up the stairs. Both teens were hurting and spent.
As they sat there Drew locked his eyes with Corwin.
'What the fuck have we done, Bud?" Drew said quietly.
Corwin looked at Drew and shrugged his shoulders.
"Come on Corwin. Did you not see Kevin spit on Martin?"
Corwin shook his head. He did not care what befell Martin. He detested the MW chump and his buddy Elton.
When Corwin did not answer Drew told him about his conversation with Elton and how Joey and Patrick were going to kick his ass.
Corwin then understood why Elton had quietly lent Drew a hand then made his comment.
As Drew continued to talk Corwin realized some of the conversation was directed at him. He had a few months ago in the heat of anger called Kane a "Spook".
The realization struck Corwin hard. "Fuck Drew, I am no better then those guys who were calling us Fags. I dissed Kane for being black, something I would never do."
"Damn Corwin, as mad as I was at Elton I would never diss him or call him a spook or a nigger. That's derogatory and spiteful. Same with Kane."
Drew continued, "Elton never called us FAGS. Martin did."
Corwin nodded. TO him it did not matter. He despise Martin and Elton, as much as he disliked HB and Kane for taking their titles.
But Corwin could see Drew's point.
"Come on Corwin, this is supposed to be fun. We are not out to diss each other. As much as we dislike being called Fags, Kane, Corwin and Daryl hate being disrespected for their race. We are not that type of guys." Drew was the more logical Outlaw. Corwin was the hothead.
Corwin did not answer but headed to the bedroom. He needed his rest.
Drew watched him go wondering if what he has said had penetrated his buddy's thick head.
The next morning Corwin was up first. He decided to head off to the TW arena and try and set a few things right. Drew's words had made him stop and think.
More then a few guys glanced at Corwin as he entered the TW arena. Corwin heard the whispers behind his back, but he did not let it deter him. He headed to the workout room where he knew HB and Kane would be training.
Corwin walked boldly into HB and Kane's training session, alone.
The two teens were in the ring practicing some wrestling moves and stopped as Corwin entered.
Kane's eyes bore into Corwin.
HB turned to Kane, "What in the fuck does HE want?" HB said as he clinched his fists.
Kane shrugged his shoulders and climbed from the ring. He and Corwin did not get along at all.
Kane was a well-built black teen. He stood 5'11 and had a solid muscular physique. He walked towards Corwin and stood nose to nose with the Outlaw.
Kane almost popped out with FAG, but held back. "What do you want, BOY?" Kane spat out. His dislike of Corwin was evident.
HB had also climbed from the ring and moved to his partner's side. Corwin was wondering if this had been such a good idea. He was in no shape to get beat on.
"Not here for any trouble." Corwin said keeping eye contact.
HB and Kane exchanged glances. "Then why are you here, Corwin?" Kane asked remembering Corwin's use of the term "SPOOK".
Corwin felt a stab of fear as the two thugs advanced on him. No one knew he was here. These two tough teens could fuck him up, badly.
Corwin took a deep breath and spoke. He looked directly at Kane. "Hey man, I came here to apologize."
Kane halted his advance. "Apologize for what?"
Corwin looked down at the floor. Then the words came flooding out. "Man I was an asshole. I had no right to call you a Spook. You had done nothing to warrant me saying that. I was pissed because you worked me over during the lumberjack match."
Kane looked at HB. "Yeah well.." Kane paused. Then he understood what was going on. Corwin knew the feeling only on a vaster basis. "Guess you and Drew have got a good dose of being dissed by people. It fucking hurts, don't it?"
Corwin nodded. "It sucks. Being different is no reason to diss someone."
Corwin was not sure how Kane would react. He stood and maintained eye contact with the black muscleteen.
Kane debated decking the Honky's ass. But he and HB had got a measure of revenge when they took the pretty boy's titles that day.
Kane looked at Corwin, then out of the blue decked the Outlaw with a hard right cross to the jaw. Corwin's head snapped back and he waited for the assault to continue. The blow made Corwin stumble backwards and fall to the floor.
He looked up to see Kane advancing. Corwin thought he was going to get his ass kicked.
Kane stood over the stunned Corwin and extended his hand. He pulled the Outlaw to his feet. "Now we're even." Kane said as he extended his hand.
Corwin rubbed his jaw, but knew he had it coming. He shook the extended hand.
The two teens would never be best friends, but this would end the animosity between them. They would still battle hard in tag matches, but the racial tension would be gone.
Kane looked Corwin hard in the eyes. "Bare in mind, BOY, you ever use a racial slur again and I will beat your ass, hard. My partner and I would never call you a Fag. We may be tough thugs but we make our presence known in the ring."
Corwin nodded. "Won't happen again. Don't need anymore enemies then I already have."
Corwin turned and walked out of the workout room. His jaw hurt, but he felt a lot better for apologizing.
As he reached the door Kane shouted out, "Hey Corwin when you and Drew are fully recovered how bout another match. No titles at stake this time. HB and I want to give you guys another wrestling lesson."
Corwin turned and faced the thug tag team. He grinned. "Only reason you whipped us is because I was not in shape. This time BOYS it will be different."
Kane looked at Corwin, "Tell you what tough guy, how bout you and I one on one?" Kane said.
Corwin nodded. "You got it, Kane. Name the time and place."
Kane walked over to Corwin. "Next week."
Corwin nodded. "Fine by me."
The two teens agreed their partners could be in their corners but would not interfere This was something they had to settle on their own.
Corwin and Kane were roughly the same size, but Kane had more muscle mass then the slimmer built Corwin. Corwin knew Kane would be a tough challenger.
