The Fate of 4 Lightweights: Shawn jimsub81

Shawn was led into Geoffrey's work out room in the boy's posh home by the butler. As Geoffrey and his ever present sidekick, the lightweight Max, looked up at him they saw the boy's usual wide grin was even larger than normal. Max's face turned a little dour at the sight of the blonde that Geoffrey had decided to take under his wing along with himself. Shawn bounded over to his new friends, he thought Max was a friend. His fellow lightweight was at least tolerating his presence. Geoffrey smiled back and said, "Well hello Shawn. You look like you had a good day!" He looked over at the long faced Max and added, "I'm glad at least one of us did!" Max snorted out a laugh.

Shawn was bursting with the news, "Geoff I can't believe it. This is the best day I've had since joining TW!" Geoffrey said , "Well, lets hear what happened that made this day so great!" Shawn said, "I'm in the four corners match! Can you believe it? Me? I'm in! They told me and I still can't believe it!" Geoffrey said, "Shawn, slow down. What four corners match are you talking about?" Shawn looked back at his middleweight friend a little confused that Geoffrey didn't know about the set ups for the coming title matches. He said, "Geoffrey, you mean you don't know?" The handsome middleweight and Max both shrugged. Shawn explained, "The league said that this time the challenger for the lightweight division title will be decided by holding a four corners match. They selected the four guys hat they felt were the most competitive. They considered records but that wasn't the only thing. They just wanted the four best competitors. And from all the lightweights I was one of the four!"

Max just said, "You? One of the four best? Who are the other three then?" Shawn answered, "Wesley, Jacoby and Chaz." Max said, "No JW guys at all huh?" Geoffrey waved a hand shushed the boisterous Max and said, "Did they give a reason for selecting who they did?" Shawn said, "They didn't select any of the JW lightweights because, no offense Max, none had demonstrated themselves well enough in the ring yet. They selected me cause I won that Lightweight Survivor Tournament." Geoffrey could almost hear Max's disbelief. Geoffrey had set Shawn up with a shot at winning by bribing Max to take a fall. Now Shawn was reaping rewards that were unknown at the time. Max was fidgeting wanting to explode but Geoffrey said, "Max, would you please go ask for some snacks in the kitchen? I think they're ready." Max began to protest and Geoffrey said, "Max, just go, OK?"

Max trudged off wondering what things would be like had he won that Survivor Match like he knew he could have. His departure gave Geoffrey a chance to talk to Shawn privately. Shawn would need a lot of help to be successful in this upcoming match. But with his expert help and advise Geofrey thought Shawn had a chance to do better than people expected. As a matter of fact, Geoffrey was hoping that the other three would take Shawn lightly. But Geoffrey was already wondering if there was going to be a four corners match to decide the middleweight challenger.
"That's great Wes!", Said Joey as he and Patrick congratulated their muscular friend on his selection to the LW 4-corner match. Wesley was brimming with pride as he sported a smile that would rival that of Shawn's. Patrick said, "Wesley, you have to be the favorite." Not normally one to brag Joey and Patrick were surprised when Wesley agreed with Patrick, " I know. that's what has me a little worried though." All three knew that being the favorite in such a match made him the marked target the other three would zero in on.

Wesley told them the other three participants were Jacoby, Chaz and Shawn. Neither gave Shawn much of a chance. And both agreed that even though tough, at 127 pounds Chaz just didn't have the bulk to go toe to toe with Wes or Jacoby. Joey said, "Just think Wes, in no time at all you'll get a chance to reclaim your title from that creep Willy. Man! It still gets me all fired up when I think about what he did to you! And I don't just mean joining the Posse. I mean the back stabbing the pre-match jumpings. What a low life!"

"Well, Joey right now I don't want to get thinking any more ahead than this match. And, Mister Joey!, you're the only guy I know that's even been in a four corners match before so got any helpful hints for me?" Joey looked at Wesley's T-shirt that had an air brush rendition from Star Wars showing an X-wing fighter diving into the Death Star. Joey said, "First thing you need to know about a four corner match," Wesley listened intently as Joey finished his thought, "don't ever, EVER show up wearing shirt like that!" Wes looked down at his favorite shirt not believing it was not incredibly cool. Patrick agreed with a laugh, "Sorry Wes but only a royal nerd would wear a shirt like that!" "I love this shirt," said Wesley. "I know you do," said Patrick still laughing, "that's what worries me!" Joey and Patrick were laughing uncontrollably. Wesley smiled knowing full well his friends were playing with him. He said, "You two must have a death wish!" as he dove and tackled both around their heads and drove them to the floor.

When Chaz told his sidekick Karl about the match Karl though exactly as Chaz did, "This is your chance Chaz. You know no sitting champion would give you a title shot. You're just too good!" The arrogant Chaz agreed. Despite being just 127 pounds he was perhaps the toughest LW in the division. Growing up under the constant beatings from his brother, the middleweight Frank, gave Chaz strength, toughness and nastiness that belayed his small size. Chaz had actually beaten Frank in the ring. He had given a few other middleweights problems too. And before the 107 pound Dawson joined the league Chaz was that lightest of the lightweights but he actually had held the middleweight title at one point.

Chaz was indeed a force to be reckoned with. But his long time buddy Karl often played a factor in Chaz's success. Chaz was cagey and knew that in order for him to win such a grueling match against the likes of Jacoby and Wesley, he wasn't even factoring Shawn into the equation, he would have to use all the resources at his disposal, which of course included Karl!

They sat down to discuss the coming strategy. Karl smiled evilly as he heard what Chaz had in mind.

Jacoby found out the news and was as pleased as the other three were. But as he looked around the facility he saw nobody to share his happiness with. Jacoby had always been a loner but not really by choice. He had a few issues in trying to interact on friendly terms with others which he masked under an overly aggressive behavior, especially in the ring. He thought he had made some friends with the tag team of Corwin and Drew. But, as they reclaimed their lost popularity, they also regained many lost friends. Slowly the two had less and less time to spend with him.

Jacoby didn't want to admit to something as lame as having hurt feelings. He channeled his bitterness into his wrestling that manifested itself in something nearing brutality as the newcomer Carson found out. Jacoby had pulverized the JW blonde in the ring till Carson literally puked his guts out.

Jacoby firmed up his jaw and headed off to the universals since he had no one to spot for him on the free weights. Accepting the notion that he needed nobody but himself to get through this he pumped the military press machine and filled himself with a deep inner resolve. He smiled inwardly as he thought about his crushing of Carson. That was fun! But that beating was nothing compared to what lay ahead for Chaz, and Wesley!
