jimsub81: Lightweight 4 Corners Match Begins
The four Lightweight contenders for the match waited in the locker room for the introductions.
Wesley was with five close friends: Joey, Patrick and former heavyweight champions Dane and Cody. Joining them was the superbly built middleweight Daryl who was home from college for the weekend. All of them regarded Wes as a little brother. But with Wesley's bulging strength he rarely needed looking out for. There were few situations where he could not take care of himself. He was confident tonight would be one of them. And speaking of little brothers, Dane's 11 year old brother and current Boy's Wrestling Lightweight champion Jayson was there too. Jayson admired Wesley almost as much as Dane. Since they were closer in age Wes was living proof to Jayson that he could one day be as well put together.
Chaz stood with his brother Frank. Frank shot a few nasty looks towards those in the other camps but no comments were made. Chaz stood stoically, with his arms crossed. He knew this was going to be a challenge but he also knew he was up for it. He also had his ace in hole. He grinned as he thought about the great plan he had devised.
Shawn stood with Geoffrey and Max. Max had gotten over the fact that he wasn't in the match. He had even warmed up to Shawn slightly as Geoffrey put Shawn through the wringer. He tried to cram every once of wrestling knowledge into the cherub faced blonde's head he could. And Shawn was a surprisingly fast learner. Geoffrey checked out the competition and was impressed as hell at the awesome physique Wesley sported. He was also greatly impressed with the fighting spirit and "take no prisoners" approach to the game Jacoby had.
Only Jacoby sat alone on the end of a dressing bench between a row of lockers. His eyes had the steely look of determination as he bore into Wesley with an icy glare. He knew it would come down to himself and Wes. He was ready to deal with the situation too.
Jacoby's fixation on Wesley did not go unnoticed by Geoffrey who whispered quietly into Shawn's ear.
The crowd was beginning to settle in and all knew that the match would soon be under way. Young hearts raced at the excitement.
Daryl continued to glance around nervously. Dane said, "Hey big man! Wesley's the one with the fight on his hands. Why you so jumpy?" Daryl said, "Something just don't feel right Dane." He slapped a big hand on young Jayson's back and said, "Mind if I borrow your little brother for a minute?" Dane said, "Sure go ahead. Just don't break anything on him or my Mom'll kill me!" Daryl laughed and said, "Naw I'll look out for him. Come on Champ. Lets go check something out." Jayson took off willingly with Daryl excited that one of the big boys would ask for his help for something. He asked, "Where are we going Daryl?" Daryl said, "We're just gonna go check something out. I hope I'm wrong. But if I'm right, well it'll be a good thing to find out." They exited into the arena.
After a few minutes more minutes all four of the combatants thought they would explode from the tension they were feeling. Chaz was the only one not showing any outward signs of pressure but it was eating his insides apart.
The ring announcer tapped on the mic. The amplified THUMP THUMP THUMP got the attention of all. It was about to begin. Everyone took a deep breath when the tension was broken by a loud, almost girlish squeal of, "Get your grubby little hands off me you little bastard!" Everyone turned to see the door swing open and following Daryl was a squealing Karl firmly secured in a hammer lock by young Jayson. Chaz's mouth fell open as he saw his "ace in the hole" neutralized. Karl had snuck in under the ring hours ago and was ready to pounce when Chaz really needed him. But now Karl was nothing but a laughing stock to everyone in the room as Jayson handled him with ease wearing a charming smile as he did.
Cody walked over and said "Well , well, well would you look at that!" Karl screamed again, "Let me go!" Jayson clamped on the hammer lock harder and Karl shut up with a groan. Cody was loving the fact that little Jayson was handling the larger Karl and asked, "How'd you know Daryl?" Daryl looked back and forth from his friends to the dumbfounded Chaz as he said, "I got a little suspicious when I didn't see Karl hanging around you Chaz like a little lap dog. So, I took ole Jayson here down to the ring and he ferreted him out like the rat he is!" Everyone in the room was laughing. Even Jacoby broke down and grinned. He was actually glad Karl had been found out. Chaz's hidden sidekick could very well have been used on himself.
The announcer began ,"Welcome to a special night here at TW. Tonight the lightweight division is having its four corners match to decide the next challenger for sitting lightweight Champion Willy!" The mention of Willy who was now firmly entrenched in the Posse brought a volley of boos. "Now lets meet the fighters for this special event. First, in corner number one, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing in at 155 pounds...JACOBY!"
Jacoby jumped up from his seat and ran through the swinging doors. The rest of the guys heard the boos that always went along with Jacoby.
Karl was still squirming in Jayson's hold. The BW lightweight champion cranked it up another notch. Karl screeched, "OUCH!, that really hurt you little creep! I'll kick your ass when I get out of this!" Karl's idle threat drew nothing but more laughter. Even Geoffrey and Max found Karl's predicament very amusing.
Dane patted Karl's face and said sarcastically, "Oh Karl. Why do I get the feeling that's so not going to happen?"
"And, in corner number two, Standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing in at 143 pounds...SHAWN!"
Shawn, Geoffrey and Max took off out the doors. More boos were heard though still a far cry from as many as Jacoby got. But Shawn's trickery to win the LW Survivor tournament was not forgotten by many fans.
"What are you gonna do with him?" Patrick asked Daryl as he nodded toward the now red faced Karl. "Well," said Daryl, "if Dane doesn't mind I figured I'd give my little buddy Jayson here a few pointers on applying a proper crotch slam. Dane just grinned and said, "I'm sure Jayson would appreciate that!"
Karl screamed as Jayson and Daryl walked him toward the practice ring , "CHAAAAZ! Do something!" But there was little Chaz could do for Karl at this point. The match was about to begin and Wesley's army of friends were way too strong in ability and numbers for he and Frank to counter. Chaz would just have to make it up to Karl later.
And in corner number three, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing in at 127 pounds...CHAZ!"
Chaz and Frank bolted out the door just as Karl yelled, "Chaaaaz! Help m..." WHAM!
Chaz always got a decidedly mixed reception. It was an equal split of boos to cheers. He took his place in the corner.
"And in corner number four, Standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing in at 148 pounds...WESLEY!"
Wesley and his friends left the room and Wesley took the ring to a loud and warm ovation. There was no doubt who the fan favorite was.
"The referee for this match is from the tag team ranks...KEEGAN!"
Keegan was well liked and the fans were glad to see him since it seemed like months since he and partner Ross had been in a tag team event. But Keegan was well schooled on the rules and promised to be calm and even handed. None of the participants had a the slightest problem with his being the referee
Keegan called all four together as he explained the rules for the benefit of the audience as well as the wrestlers themselves. "Gentlemen this will work just like a tag team match only you will tag out to each other. There will be a few moments of legal double teaming but don't abuse it. I can still DQ you at MY discretion and it will be over for you! Got it?" All four nodded or mumbled "yes." Keegan went on, "And , once tagged in you must remain in action for at least two minutes before you may tag out again. Falls can come by way of pinfall or submission. Once you are eliminated you must leave the ring area immediately. The next fighter to enter is the next number in line. So say Jacoby who's number 1 pins Shawn who's number two. Then Chaz would enter the action as he's in corner number three. Understand?" More affirmative nods. OK guys! That just about covers it. Remember, this is NOT no holds barred! Don't make me DQ you! That would be a terrible way to lose! Now step back through the ropes at your corners."
They did so as Keegan pulled a half dollar coin from his pocket and said, "Heads even corners start. Tails, odd corners start!" He flipped it caught it on his wrist and said, "Its heads. Jacoby starts against Chaz!" The bell rang and the LW four corner match was on!...
Jacoby and Chaz had entered the league together. Both had seen the other numerous times. Chaz knew Jacoby to be a powerhouse wrestler who was nearly a middleweight. Jacoby knew Chaz to be resourceful, tough and devious.
Chaz needed to get the bigger boy down or at the very least avoid a lock up. He fainted a drop kick then dove forward and low nailing Jacoby's right knee. Jacoby fell over like a big oak tree as he felt pain radiate out from his knee.
With Jacoby on his belly Chaz brought a hard backhand chop across the back of his neck that made Jacoby wince in pain. Chaz stepped on the back of the head driving Jacoby's face into the mats as he bounced into the ropes. He came off with a perfect body splash across the back.
Chaz rose up and clasped both hands over his head to acknowledge his cheering fans as much as to annoy those booing him. Jacoby was getting up and Chaz dropped his pose and struck from behind whacking Jacoby behind his right knee and taking his leg out from under him. Jacoby fell back again and Chaz came dropping down with an elbow to the forehead. Jacoby grabbed his head in both arms and rolled to his stomach. He was shocked that Chaz was taking it to him this hard this fast.
Chaz dropped down with landing his knee right on the back of Jacoby's right one. The larger boy gritted his teeth as the assault on that joint continued. Chaz grabbed his ankle and pulled him to Shawn's corner.
Jacoby tried to roll over but another kick to his right leg stopped his movements for a second allowing Shawn time to enter the action. Chaz still held the right leg out taunt and motioned with his head toward it. Shawn grinned and leapt driving both knees into Jacoby's right leg smashing the upper thigh and the area behind the knee again. Chaz exited and Shawn took over on the hurt LW superstar.
Jacoby rolled over and was gripping his right leg with both hands as Shawn rained down a series of stomps to the chest, sides and back. Anywhere Shawn saw an opening on the writhing boy he laid in a heavy stomp. One of Geoffrey's lessons was that when you delivered a stomp you should try and twist your foot as you causing it to deliver just a touch more pain as you dig into the bare flesh. This was one of the many tips that Shawn had absorbed and had every intention of using. And Jacoby could attest to his ability to apply those painful stomps.
Shawn at last stopped and straddled Jacoby, reached down and grabbed a handful of hair pulling him to his feet. Jacoby was having trouble putting weight on his right leg and was thus unable to stop the forward drive Shawn took him on toward Chaz's corner.
Chaz saw the move and stuck his foot through the ropes just in time to have Jacoby's stomach impact it. As his wind was driven away Chaz gave him a solid head butt to boot. The double hit made Jacoby almost like putty in Shawn's hands.
Shawn hooked Jacoby around the head and got a running start before jumping up and down with a flying DDT. Jacoby was sucking wind as Shawn rolled the older teen over and laid across his chest. Keegan was down and slapped the mats, One, Two..Th.. Just before his hand hit the mat Jacoby put his hands to Shawn's chest and heaved him off. It was the last of Jacoby's current energy reverses and he rolled quickly to tag out to Wesley. But just before the tag his hand was slapped away as Shawn pounced on him again.
Wesley watched as this "new Shawn" took it to the hurting Jacoby who had done nothing in the match except prove he can take punishment. Wesley had always liked Shawn with his smiling face and pleasant personality. But even though Shawn was smiling now it was different. It was a cruel and nasty one. Suddenly Wesley didn't find Shawn that appealing anymore. But Shawn would not have cared had he known Wesley's thoughts. He was getting his shot a fame and with so many competitors in TW Shawn realized this could be his last shot at it.
Shawn dropped another knee. This one caught Jacoby in the lower back. Shawn jerked Jacoby up and pulled one arm behind his back. Shawn smiled broadly as he extended his hand to Wesley. Somehow Wesley would rather have taken a swing at Shawn but he had to play by the rules. Shawn was a bit dumbfounded as Wesley ignored the wide open body of Jacoby as he held it open for Wesley's powerful fists.
Jayson said in almost wonderment to his big brother Dane, "Wes had a perfect open shot. Why didn't he take it?" Dane said with just a touch of a sigh, "Cause he's feeling bad for Jacoby he didn't want to take the shot. Never mind the fact Jacoby would have nailed Wes in a heartbeat. Wes is just a nice guy." Geoffrey was sitting right in front of them and overheard the conversation and turned adding, "Its also why he'll never win this match too!" then turned back around. Jayson looked hurt at Geoffrey's words and Dane said, "Don't pay any attention to him Jace." But secretly Dane believed the same as Geoffrey.
Joey leaned forward and asked Jayson, "Hey Jace, what happened with Karl?" Jayson shrugged his shoulders ,"Dunno, After we did a few moves on him Daryl asked me to come down here with you guys. He said he wanted to talk to Karl privately." Joey leaned back and said to Patrick,"Poor Karl. I almost feel bad for him." "Really?", asked Patrick. Joey laughed and said, "No. Not Really!"
Wesley jerked Jacoby int An Irish whip and slammed him with a big clothesline on the return. Jacoby was laid out and Wesley fell to cover him. Jacoby managed to wrap an arm around Wesley's neck and pulled his mouth close to Wesley's ear and said, "Wes, wait a minute. Its gonna be you and me in the end anyway. Lets get rid of the others first." Wesley shoved Jacoby back to the mats and said, "I don't know Jacoby. You don't look so good right now. How about I just finish you off first?"
As he pulled Jacoby up the beaten boy managed to spear a thumb to Wesley's throat. Wes clutched his neck gagging and Jacoby scrambled to tag in the nearest wrestler, Chaz.
Chaz reluctantly entered. He had hoped Jacoby would have been history by this point. Wesley was just getting to a sitting position when Chaz laid in a kick to Wesley's solid pecs. When the smaller boy's foot practically bounced of the firm muscles Chaz decided on another tactic. He came in from behind Wes and hooked his head and tried to lift him. But now a somewhat recovered Wesley was not about to let the 127 pound Chaz manhandle him. Wes reached back and snagged Chaz around his head and flipped him over his back sending Chaz to the mats in front of him.
Chaz was shaking his head as he got to his knees. Wesley snatched him up from behind around his waist. He tossed him over his back in one of the easiest suplexes he ever performed. Chaz slammed hard and Wesley had him flying into the ropes before he knew what was happening. Wes plowed his full force shoulder block into the Chaz's rebounding body sending the smaller boy flipping through the air before landing on his back. Wesley stomped down on Chaz's tender belly then reached down and lifted him in a crotch slam. But before depositing him he heaved his body over head in a press as a present to the crowd. They responded with cheers.
Wesley powered Chaz down from over head. Chaz felt every bone in his body rock from the impact.
Wesley had never liked Chaz with his showboating style. Though Wesley had always admired the guts that the smallest boy in the league put forth with amazing gusto. But Chaz had been unnecessarily cruel to several of Wesley's friends on several occasions. He had wanted to get Chaz in the ring for a long time. Now he had him. But Wesley also knew that Jacoby was probably right when he said it would come down to the two of them. Wes opted to let Shawn and Chaz battle each other out.
Wesley lifted Chaz over his shoulder and carried him hooked under the chin like he was a sack of flour. Chaz flailed his arms uselessly as Wesley tagged in Shawn. Chaz was tossed up like his weight did not even register to Wesley as the muscleboy plopped him down hard ton his back with another body slam. Shawn was already in the top of the corner and leapt just as Chaz was settling after his slam.
Shawn's falling elbow plowed Chaz's soft stomach with the bulk of Shaw's 143 pounds behind it. Wesley exited to the apron as Shawn draped Chaz's arm over his shoulder and picked him up by the waist band of his shorts. Chaz was tossed back over in another suplex.
Geoffrey leaned forward and watched so intently he almost seemed like a parent. He had taught Shawn much and Shawn was doling out the punishment as per his instructions. What Geoffrey had also instilled in Shawn was a mindset of strike hard and show no mercy till victory was achieved. Shawn had learned that lesson well too as he launched himself off the ropes and brought his leg down hard across Chaz's face. Shawn left his slightly soft thigh muscle fill in the gaps around Chaz's nose and mouth making the smaller boy struggle to breath for a few moments.
When Keegan made Shawn remover his leg. Chaz gasped in a deep breath. But he didn't hold it long as Shawn dropped down with a a knee to Chaz's stomach driving it back out. As Chaz struggled for more wind Shawn clamped on a face claw. Chaz felt the pressure on his smallish face and Shaw was showing his grin as he strained to press in harder. He lifted Chaz to his feet. Chaz kicked out wildly and Shawn avoided them.
Shawn then got both hands locked into the face claw and Chaz let out a muffled squeal. Shawn sensed victory of him. So did Geoffrey who sat forward and spoke to himself , "Use the corner." Shawn certainly didn't hear Geoffrey but it seemed as if he did as he drove Chaz backward with all his might. Chaz's back hit the turnbuckles and he let out another muffled groan.
With both hands firmly squeezing the tough lightweight's face Shawn pulled forward the slammed the base of the skull to the top turnbuckle over and over. Chaz was being destroyed. He had never recovered from Wesley's work on him now Shawn had him and had him good and was not about to let up.
When Chaz slumped forward Shawn drove his head back to the buckle and raised a knee to gut at the same time. Another seven hard shots to the turnbuckle along with seven knee lifts to the abdomen and Shawn felt Chaz was ready to go bye bye. Shawn let loose with the double face claw. Chaz was weary and had no counter to the fireman's carry he was lifted into. Shawn turned to the ring and took a short run followed by a quick jump and ...WHAM! Chaz was plowed into the mats. Shawn hooked both legs that offered not even a hint of a kick out. Keegan was down and slapped the mats three times and the bell rang. Chaz was history.
The audience was more than a little surprised. Shawn, a heretofore mediocre at best wrestler, had just pinned one of the toughest lightweights in the league. Granted Wesley had softened him up first but Shaw's tactics and execution were incredible. This was not lost on the other wrestlers watching. Cody leaned forward and tapped Geoffrey's shoulder knowing full well it was the handsome MW that was behind this "New Shawn." He said, "Nice work Geoffrey. Shawn looks like he learned well." Geoffrey was a bit shocked by the unexpected compliment but his arrogance refused to allow him to accept it graciously. He replied, "Well Cody, He did have ME teaching him. Did you expect less?" Cody leaned back as Patrick said, "What a complete ass!" Cody said nothing but nodded his head. Geoffrey didn't turn to see who said that. He knew it was Patrick and made a mental note of it.
Chaz had been helped from the ring but his brother Frank. Since Chaz was in position three, position four was to enter next. That was Wesley again. Shawn knew that his best option was to let Wesley and Jacoby beat the hell out of each other. If all went well one would go down and he could pick up the broken pieces of the other. He was still on a high after pinning Chaz and he danced on his feet as he faced Wesley. He even taunted the muscular boy by jutting his face forward as if to show he had not fear Wes could land a shot.
The taunting worked a Wesley did grow angry at Shawn. His dislike for the blonde kid was growing steadily. The disrespect he now showed was too much and Wes lunged forward. Shawn showed good agility as he avoided the dive and spun around with a side kick that smacked Wesley in the ribs sending him tumbling. Wesley was back up relatively fast but Shawn already was standing and in prefect position to land his drop kick. Wesley's chest was nailed by two hard boot soles and he was sent to the ropes.
With Wes tangled in the ropes for a moment Shawn decided to tag out to Jacoby. He had hit Wesley a few good shots and decided not to press his luck against the much stronger boy. He would leave that for Jacoby.
Jacoby stepped through the ropes as he and Wes faced off at ring center. Jacoby's right leg still bothered him but it was much better than it had been ten minutes ago. Although there had been no formal challenge or acceptance the two solid teens slammed together interlocking their fingers as they went full bore into a test of strength. Wesley was a little surprised that Jacoby was resisting his muscle power as well as he was. Jacoby was quite strong in his own right and feared nobody. He respected Wesley's muscle and power but felt deep down that he could overcome them.
Jacoby let put a primal yell and surged forward. Wesley began to bend at the knee. Everyone in the crowd was stunned too as Jacoby was outmuscleing Wesley. Jacoby put everything he had into a final surge. Wesley's arms were quivering but did not yield. Wesley could feel Jacoby's offensive tapering off. Jacoby had taken him to the brink but Wes had held. Now Wesley leaned into Jacoby with all he had. His knee straightened and Jacoby's wrists began to bend. Jacoby's face was red as a candy apple as he strained to stave off Wesley's drive. But Wes could sense he was going to win this. He knew Jacoby knew it too. He also knew Jacoby would break off and go for a cheap hit to avoid losing the battle outright.
When Jacoby realized the battle was lost he decided to go for a straight fall back and try for a monkey flip. But Wes was anticipating some sort of move and as Jacoby relaxed and began to fall back Wesley reacted quicker and pulled Jacoby forward into a raised knee that slammed his diaphragm. Wesley released one arm and wrapped the other behind Jacoby's back and cranked on a chicken wing. Jacoby made a face of pain as Wesley charged forward plowing Jacoby's chest into the ropes causing them to both recoil. On the force of the rebound Wesley heaved Jacoby up and over into a suplex that sent Jacoby flying. Jacoby landed on his back so hard he did another flip and came to rest on his stomach almost thrown out of the ring.
Jacoby had never been tossed around with such reckless abandon. He barely had time to react as Wesley moved in on him. Wes straddled him and used the ropes to pull himself up then dropped down onto Jacoby's back getting a good groan from him. Wes rose again and repeated the move...almost!
Jacoby showed why he was as well respected as he was and slid his body out of the ring and Wesley's butt slammed the mats. It didn't hurt him but was rather embarrassing. Even though Jacoby wanted nothing more than to rest a moment he went on the offensive.
Jacoby reached and grabbed Wesley around the head from the arena floor. He pulled Wesley's upper body over the lowest rope and laid in a some heavy chops across those two nicely rounded pec muscles. Keegan began counting on Jacoby as soon as he attacked Wes. As Keegan neared his ten count Jacoby pulled himself up and vaulted the top rope landing both feet onto o Wesley's hard abs as he entered the ring.
Wesley's upper body was still stretched over the bottom rope. He moved to get up and Jacoby launched a kick to the chest and put him down again. Again Wes tried to raise up only to be put down the same way. Jacoby then reached down and grabbed both of Wes's feet and gave a hard tug. Wesley was torn off the rope and the back of his head hit the canvas dazing him slightly.
Jacoby saw his opening. Even though hurting himself his inner resolve manifested itself as his assault on Wesley began. First he performed a simple yet effective elbow drop to the chest. As he rolled over to get up he sent a hard punch to the ripped abs. Wesley got up to his side leaning on his right elbow. But Jacoby was to his feet by then. He sent a hard kick to the small of the back. Wes arched his back as he grabbed at his hurting back. Jacoby stomped down on Wes's rock hard abs again then dropped a single knee to the lower gut.
Jacoby's attacks kept the well built Wesley down. As Wes tried to get up again. Jacoby went into a near frenzy of heavy stomping. Hard boot soles smacked all over Wesley's hard torso. No part of Wesley's body from neck to groin went untouched by one of Jacoby's stomps. Finally Jacoby tired a little and relented his attack. Wesley lay on the canvas with his chest heaving as he struggled through the pain Jacoby had given him.
But even though Jacoby was still hurting himself and now a little tired, he could smell the victory. Like a shark that smelled blood in the water he circled Wesley deciding his next attack. Once Wes was finished he would make short work of Shawn who he felt was in way over his head.
Jacoby grabbed Wesley's right arm and pulled it up. He sent three kicks into the armpit then pulled Wes to his feet by it.
Daryl at last joined his friends and said to nobody in particular, "How's Wes doing?" Cody turned around and said, "He's getting his butt kicked at the moment. He was doing real good for a while though. Chaz is history too." Daryl said, "Yeah I see. Well, Wes can take a lickin and come right back." Little Jayson chimed in with a worry filled , "I sure hope so. Jacoby is taking him apart, look!" As Jayson pointed They saw Jacoby hurl Wesley into the ropes. He set up in a perfect judo stance and drove a front kick that speared Wesley's stomach. Wes had strong abs but Jacoby's kick was awesome and his foot went deep. Wesley's face was picture of agony as he sank to his knees wrapping both arms around his middle.
Dane winced as did everyone else around him at the blow Wes took. He said, "Man, that's got to hurt!" Jacoby moved behind Wes to pull him up again. Dane said to Daryl during the small break in the action, "Hey Daryl? What happened with Karl anyway?" Daryl got a slightly wicked grin as he said, "Dane, you'd be amazed at the many uses for duct tape!" Dane and the rest laughed just imagining what Karl's current state now was. But right now their friend they had come to support was being systematically destroyed in the ring.
Jacoby had a groggy Wes on his feet as he slammed a hard punch that actually penetrated Wesley's weakened ab wall. Wes doubled over and Jacoby demonstrated his own bit of strength. He picked Wes up in a beautiful crotch slam and deposited him hard.
The crowd was booing him as they hated him and loved Wes. Jacoby dropped another elbow. But Wes somehow found the strength to roll just enough to be missed. Jacoby's elbow and rib cage hit the canvas stunning him slightly. He was up fast though and got over Wesley again. Wes knew Jacoby's right leg was still bothering him. He didn't want to exploit it but he was getting trashed and knew he would lose soon if he didn't pull out all the stops. Wesley swung his arm into the back of Jacoby's left knee knocking it out. All of Jacoby's weight went onto his aching right leg and Jacoby pitched forward over Wes. Wesley used most of his remaining strength to grab Jacoby's right ankle and pull him over to Shawn and tag him.
Shawn was really hoping that one of these two standout lightweights would have eliminated the other. But he would have to settle for having them both beaten severely. Shawn entered the ring and immediately dropped a knee to the back side of the right leg. Jacoby whimper out a slight cry as his leg was really being abused.
Wes exited and draped both arms over the top rope and sank his head. He was nearly exhausted. He did manage to watch as Shawn took control of Jacoby by pulling him up by the ears. Jacoby was exhausted as Wes but now he had to face a fresh Shawn.
The angel faced blonde smacked a hard clothesline across Jacoby's chest. Shawn still lacked the power to knock Jacoby down but he did send him staggering backward. Shawn went after him and landed a drop kick that kept Jacoby going backward even more off balance. As he came to rest against the ropes Shawn leapt up and nailed him with another kick that sent Jacoby flipping over the top rope. Jacoby's firm back hit with a dull smack against the lightly padded floor.
Shawn took aim and jumped after him. Both of Shaw's feet hit the stomach. Jacoby rolled over in a fetal position hugging his gut. They were on the side of the ring nearest to where Geoffrey and Wesley's friends were. Geoffrey gave Shawn a slight smile and conveyed a look that told Shawn to go for the kill.
With Jacoby dazed from Shawn's drop plus all the abuse Wes had given him Shawn jerked him up and locked in a half nelson. Shawn then powered Jacoby into the barrier gut first. Jacoby let out a whoosh of breath. Keegan began counting Shawn out. But the blonde boy quickly sent Jacoby on a trip to the ring apron and slammed him into it chest first. Keegan was nearing his count. It took all of Shawn's strength but he heaved Jacoby back in under the bottom rope. He scrambled in quickly to avoid the DQ. He landed an elbow drop to the lower belly as he entered by vaulting the top rope.
Jacoby was now in a world of hurt. Before the match if someone were to have said to even to most casual of fans before the match that the baby faced Shawn that had known only limited success would be manhandling the likes of Jacoby they would have said the idea was absurd. But that's exactly what Shawn was doing as he pulled Jacoby to his feet. Shawn had to struggle but he did send Jacoby into the ropes on an Irish whip. Shawn positioned himself in front of Jacoby.
Geoffrey was on the edge of his seat with a clenched fist. Dane heard him speak softly to himself, "Now Shawn. Do it!"
As Jacoby shot off the cords Shawn turned his back to him and dropped forward into a hand stand and shot both feet out in a double mule kick. Shawn's boots hit the bottom of Jacoby's chin and laid him out hard. The smacking sound of the impact was heard through the auditorium. Jacoby lay in aprefect spread eagle in the middle of the ring. His only movement was the heavy undulations of his stomach as he sucked down air. Geoffrey and Max high fived each other as Shawn laid across Jacoby's heaving chest. Keegan dropped down and could have counted for minutes. The bell rang as Jacoby had been eliminated by the unlikeliest of his opponents.
The bell rang and the crowd as well as Wesley was looking on in stunned disbelief. He knew Jacoby was beaten on but he never suspected Shawn had the ability to take him out. As Jacoby was helped to his feet by Keegan and out of the ring by Keegan's tag team partner Ross Wesley realized he had underestimated Shawn by a wide margin. Apparently Chaz and Jacoby had too as both had fallen victim to a Shawn pinfall.
The bell rang and the final combat was ready to begin as Wesley and the surprising Shawn stepped toward each other. Shawn took a good look at the red splotches on Wesley's chest, belly and sides. He knew the muscular boy had taken some serious hits thanks to the now eliminated opponents. But Shawn knew too Wesley's reputation for being able to withstand a lot of punishment and keep going. He would take no chances with the superbly toned teen many called "nerdboy."
Shawn feinted a lock up several times. Wes moved in and Shawn ducked away. Shawn wanted not part of locking up with the much stronger Wes. He needed to use hit and run tactics. Fortunately Geoffrey had foreseen this very matchup and did his best to school Shawn on just such tactics.
Shawn faked another lock up. Wes lunged forward and Shawn did a drive to the right swinging a foot into Wesley's abs as he turned the dive into a somersault. Shawn came right back to his feet as Wesley came after him. Shawn ducked down and threw a well aimed punch that slammed Wesley in the balls. Wes cupped his groin and sank to his knees. Shawn had really hurt him. Keegan cautioned Shawn who simply shrugged and said, "I'm sorry! I just misjudged!" Keegan gave Shawn a 'Yeah, right!' look as Shawn moved in behind Wesley.
Shawn hooked his feet in front of Wesley's kneeling legs. He pulled both of Wesley's arms behind him and lurched his body forward slamming Wesley's face and chest to the mats. Shawn's 143 pounds came falling in on top. Shawn kept hold of the arms and jerked the now dazed Wes to his feet. He stretched the arms out behind Wes and dropped back planting both feet into the small of the back. Shawn executed an amazing reverse monkey flip! Wesley was heaved over Shawn and landed on the mats with hard belly flop!
Shawn's adrenaline was pumping like crazy and he was up in a flash. He dropped an elbow to the base of Wesley's skull and sent the muscular boy half way to La La Land. Shawn straddled Wes and jerked him up by his hair. Still quite out of it he didn't have the wherewithal to stop Shawn's driving of him to the corner. Wesley was slammed in hard and Shawn grabbed the back of the neck and bounced Wesley's face off the top buckle seven times.
Shawn stood back and Wes turned away from the corner barely aware of where he was. He took a few steps into the ring on rubbery legs. Shawn looked toward Geoffrey sporting his typical smile. Geoffrey gave him the thumps up and Shawn stepped in front of Wes and dropped forward nailing Wesley in the chest and chin with the same double mule kick that had finished off Jacoby.
Wesley was slammed hard as he was knocked senselessly to the corner. He slumped down against the turnbuckles. Shawn was a little irritated that Wes didn't have the courtesy to fall flat on his back as Jacoby had. Shawn strode over him and looked down at the so called "favorite" of the match. He scoffed as Wesley's chest heaved up and down. Shawn was greatly impressed at his own performance. He was buoyed by the thought of taking out all three of his opponents after virtually nobody gave him a snowball's chance in Hell of doing anything at all.
Shawn drove a series of hard stomps down into Wesley's firm yet terribly battered chest and stomach. Shawn knew Wes was ready for the taking. He needed to get him out of the corner though. Shawn reached down and grabbed the short hairs on Wesley's neck and pulled him forward. Wesley managed to grab hold of the middle rope to keep himself in the corner. Shawn looked annoyed and kicked Wesley in the chest a few more times. Wes let go of the rope.
Shawn then pulled Wes to his feet and jerked him forward. But Wes grabbed the rope at the last moment and stayed in the corner. Shawn turned to see Wes firmly secured and went to kick him again. But Wesley swung a hard fist forward. That same fist that had taken the awesome heavyweight Doug to the limit of his endurance was now firmly embedded in the tender baby fat of Shawn's belly. Shawn's eyes bugged out of his head.
Geoffrey's look changed as he almost leapt out of his seat. Wesley reared back and sent three more hard gut blasts into Shawn who now buckled at the knees. Wesley slowly took control as he turned Shaw's back to the corner. Shawn tried to kick at Wes but Wesley dodged it but landed another hard punch to Shawn's soft, slightly pudgy gut. Wes left his fist in its target for a moment making it look like a softball sunk into the middle of a catcher's mitt!
Shawn had never felt pain like that before. He felt his dream slipping away. He knew he needed to strike back...and hard! As Wesley was getting ready to send in another painful gut punch Shawn lurched his head forward butting Wes across the bridge of his nose. Wes let out a yelp and fell back almost instantly. Blood streamed out one nostril and Keegan called a quick time out to check his condition. Wes was not seriously damaged but he was sure enough hurting as the action resumed.
Shawn dealt with his hurting innards as well as he could as he charged forward and smacked Wesley with a clothesline across the nose no less! Wesley fell to his back flopping in pain. Shawn knew he had him now. He jerked Wes up and tossed him to the ropes. Wesley saw Shawn set himself up for his new favorite and very effective move. As Shawn did his handstand and aimed his legs Wesley did a stealing second base slide and came in under Shawn's legs and clamped a hard abdominal claw into Shawn's exposed belly.
Shawn gasped as Wesley not only dodged the move but landed one of his own. Wes powered Shawn over to his back as he clamped on the claw harder. Wesley had used this hold on tougher guys than Shawn. Wesley's hard, bony fingers sank easily into the soft mound of baby fat around the boy's navel. Shawn thrashed as he felt pin like he never knew possible. Yet Shawn wanted this win more than anything he had ever wanted anything in his short 14 years of life. He would not submit.
Wesley knew now that he had the advantage and he pulled Shawn up by wrapping his left arm behind his back and hugged Shawn closer to him and his well applied claw hold. Shawn gasped as he pounded his fist futilely onto Wesley's back. Wes pressed in harder and thought he actually felt Shawn's innards moving. Shawn at last could stand no more and cried out his submission, "Aaaghh! Oh god, OK! I give up!"
The bell sounded and Wesley let Shawn fall in a pile at his feet as the announcer said, "Here is your winner by submission hold and next Lightweight challenger...WESLEY!"
All of Wesley's friends came running into the ring to congratulate him. Wes was hurting and exhausted. Chaz, Jacoby and the surprising Shawn had all taken a piece out of his hide. He knew he had been in a fight but he never felt better.
Geoffrey and Max helped Shawn from the ring. Max seemed irritated at him but Geoffrey was wise enough to know that Shawn had done incredibly well with all considered. He knew that with a bit more training and strength exercises Shawn would be back and the results would most likely be different.
But for now it was Wesley's night. As he was led back to the locker room he caught Willy's icy stare as the sitting Lightweight champion sat beside Posse leader Kevin. As Wesley locked eyes with his ex-best friend he knew that in a weeks time he would either be the new champion or Willy would retain it. No matter how though the battle had just gone through had been he realized that the next one would be even tougher.
