Rico entered the promoter's office to see if he could get a match with either Danny or Nick. Rico wanted to extend his win streak and thought either of those two would be a relatively easy victory for him. When Rico asked the promoter if he could get a match with either Danny or Nick, the promoter hesitated then informed Rico that Derek had suddenly retired. Rico just looked at him and the promoter continued "Do you think you had anything to do with that?' Rico smiled and replied "Yeah, probably the beating I gave him." The promoter knew the reasons behind Derek's leaving the TW and had nothing to do with his match loss to Rico. The promoter did not verify Rico's thought just smiled at Rico and said "You did beat him soundly." Rico said "Now I want to beat Danny or Nick, either one." The promoter knew he could sign against either of the two but since Rico's ego was now in high gear, decided to play on it. He told Rico that Danny and Nick might not be available, how about a match against Tommy. Rico wanted what he thought would be an easy win and was not sure about Tommy. Rico told the promoter he would rather not have a match with Tommy because Kevin would interfere. The promoter told Rico that he would guarantee that Kevin would not interfere, and pointed out that Rico was older, 2 inches taller and almost 20 pounds heavier than Tommy and that Tommy did not really win against Toby in his last match because of a DQ from interference and Toby probably would have won. In his match against Tommy, there would be no interference from Kevin and Tommy's confidence was more than likely at a low now. This convinced Rico to sign a match against Tommy with the stipulation that Kevin could not interfere in the match or enter the ring.

Rico signed a contract and after leaving, the promoter called Kevin. Kevin and Tommy arrived about an hour later. The promoter explained that Kevin could not interfere or enter the ring and Kevin smiled and agreed since it was in the contract. Tommy was looking forward to the match as he knew Rico was trying to build a reputation and Tommy wanted to destroy that before it was established. The promoter told Tommy that Rico was older, taller and heavier and if that was a problem. It was not a problem for Tommy, he treated it like a good workout.

Tommy was introduced first at 5'6" weighing 134 pounds and was met with the usual boos from the crowd. Tommy swaggered to the ring and limbered up in the corner waiting for his opponent. Rico was introduced at 5'8" weighing 152 pounds and was met by the crowd with almost the same reception as Tommy but there were a portion of the crowd that wanted Rico to do the bad boy Tommy in.

Tommy had instructions from Kevin to not put up any kind of fight for the first two to three minutes to make Rico think he would win easily, then make Rico suffer. After the ref's instructions the bell rang and a collar and elbow lockup was the way they met in the ring. Tommy put up resistance but allowed Rico to muscle him into a corner. Tommy knew Rico was going to gutpunch him and was ready for it. Although Tommy liked trading punches with another and was good at giving and receiving, this was a show for everyone to see and was Kevin's instructions. Sure enough, Rico threw a good punch into Tommy's gut and felt the muscles were tight. Even so, Tommy doubled completely over and wondered what Rico would do next. Rico secured Tommy's head and suplexed him to the center of the ring. Tommy landed on his back with his arms to his side and jerked once then laid there as Rico got up and stomped a boot into Tommy's tight abs. Tommy grabbed his stomach and curled in a ball but was not really hurt that badly. The crowd reacted to this favorably and now Tommy saw what the reasoning behind this was. To get the crowd behind Rico. The crowd was getting a little wild seeing Tommy on the receiving end and Rico thought they were cheering for him which pumped him up. Rico pulled Tommy up by the hair as the crowd started to boo and yell which made Rico look out of the ring. He saw Kevin approaching the ring. Rico told the ref Kevin was not supposed to interfere and the ref turned to intercept Kevin. Kevin did not get into the ring and while he was arguing and telling the ref that he just wanted to watch and would not get in the ring and interfere, there was nothing wrong with standing there watching. As Kevin kept the ref distracted for a few moments, Tommy had drove a fist into Rico's gut doubling him over. Tommy followed up by pulling Rico upright by the hair and landing a kick between Rico's legs dropping him on the mats clutching himself, moaning. The ref turned around and Tommy just shrugged as if he did not know what happened. Tommy grabbed both Rico's boots and turned him onto his back spreading the legs apart. Rico protected himself and shook his head to say no and the ref warned Tommy. Tommy raised his right foot and looked around then stomped it to the upper stomach of Rico.

Tommy threw the legs down and Rico was not breathing too well from the stomp. Tommy walked to the side of Rico and dropped his weight, knees first to the gut of Rico. Even though Rico had his arms over his gut the knees still did damage. Tommy worked his hand into Rico and applied a stomach claw, a favorite hold of Tommy's. Rico was reeling in pain and was close to submitting but did not want the humiliation of giving up to a smaller and younger competitor and tried to endure the pain. Tommy could feel that Rico was not able to flex his abs and dug his fingers deep into the middle of Rico's belly for almost a minute. Tommy suddenly released the claw, pulled Rico's arms away from his midsection and sat on Rico in a reverse schoolboy pin securing the arms with shins. Tommy raised up to get power and landed half dozen fists to the navel of Rico. Tommy then secured a double handed claw onto the battered belly of Rico and was raised with his elbows locked to put more weight into the hold so he could dig deeper. Rico could not take the pain any longer and was trying to signal the ref of his submission. The ref finally noticed and asked Rico if he submitted. Rico shook his head yes and the ref called for the bell. Tommy released the claw after a few seconds and just sat back on Rico with his speedo covering Rico's face for some humiliation. The crowd yelled as Phillip ran down the aisle and bolted into the ring to take advantage of Rico being held wide open and laid stomps to Rico's already reddened gut. Tommy and Phillip pulled Rico to his feet so Tommy could full nelson him. Phillip threw a quick combo of left, right to Rico's gut then backed off a step and landed a hard front kick into the middle of Rico's destroyed belly. Tommy let Rico fall to the mats and Tommy and Phillip exited the ring and along with Kevin they slowly strutted back to the locker room with the disapproval of the crowd. Rico needed help from a couple of the heavyweights to clear the ring for the next match.
