jimsub81 Geoffrey Vs Patrick: Prelude

Geoffrey approached the newly crowned Middleweight Champion Elton with a wide and friendly grin. "Hey Champ how's it going?" Elton returned the greeting with a simple nod. He knew Geoffrey's type and knew that his friendliness masked an ulterior motive. He had Geoffrey figured out the moment he saw how he strutted around. He realized the new guy from the JW league was talented. He had beaten a tough opponent in Zack which proved that. But Elton hated to be "played", just hated it. And he could tell that was exactly what Geoffrey was about to try to do.

Geoffrey said, "I just have to tell you Elton, I really admire you. I never had the chance to formally congratulate you but..." Elton dropped the dumbbell he was hoisting and glared at Geoffrey saying, "Save the BS Geoffrey. Just cut right to it! You and I both know you didn't walk over here to congratulate me!" Geoffrey was no dummy and decided to just play it straight. Elton would obviously respect that more. "OK Elton, here it is. I want the next shot at your title. I think I proved myself so far and I think I deserve it." Elton had figured this was exactly what the guy had wanted. He said, "Geoffrey, your a good wrestler no denying that. But there are a ton of good middleweights in TW. I can think of half a dozen off the top of my head that I think are better than you. And I haven't even seen all the new guys in the ring yet!"

Geoffrey realized the battle was lost and didn't bother arguing. The guy had already made up his mind. "What can I do to change your mind Elton...anything?" Elton didn't want to be totally rude, even to a jerk like Geoffrey and said with all sincerity, "Just go wrestle. Fight the toughest guys you can find and beat them. You do that enough times and..well, I'll consider it." Elton picked up his dumbbell and began curling again. Geoffrey walked away. He knew he could probably get Elton to notice him with another three or four solid wins. But Geoffrey was impatient. He wanted to get Elton into the ring with the title on the line faster than that. 'Besides', Geoffrey thought, 'If I wait for 3-4 more matches Elton may have lost the title by then anyway.' He needed a short cut to get Elton in the ring. And he knew just who to see to find out how. He looked around and saw him, "Max!", yelled Geoffrey. Max came running like a trained pet. "Max, I have a job for you. Here's what I want you to do."

Two Days Later:

Max came running over to his mentor, though many would use the term "master" as Max was often viewed as Geoffrey's lap dog. He had a smile on his face so Geoffrey knew the lightweight had good news for him. "OK Max," Said Geoffrey, "what you got for me?" Max said, "OK, you wanted me to get the scoop on Elton well here it is: Elton was not an original member of TW but he has been around a long time. He's got tons of friends...friends you don't want to have as enemies Geoffrey." Geoffrey scowled, "let me worry about that OK Max?" Max shrugged and went on, "Elton's best friends are, Martin Derrick, Patrick, Rick & Carter, Vinny, Wesley..Hell Man like almost all of the original TW guys like him, the Posse excluded. But even the heavyweights, as much as they've been fighting with each other, they all seem to like Elton...All of them!" Geoffrey said, "OK Max, enough about his friends I don't give a rats ass about them. Tell me about HIM!"

Max said, "Elton's a classic stand up guy. He fights fair and hard. He knows his way around a ring and has some good moves. Plus he's real strong and has great staying power. He hates wrestlers who use, shall we say.. questionable moves? He stands by his friends. He fought several MultiMan tag matches with Martin against Corwin and Drew cause he felt they were playing dirty. He......" Geoffrey cut him off and rubbed his chin as if in thought, "Stands by his friends, huh, Read off that list of his friends again." Max repeated, "Martin, Derrick, Patrick, Rick an.." "Stop!", Geoffrey said, "Patrick? He's that little dweeb that hangs around with Joey a lot isn't he?" Max nodded in the affirmative. "And," Geoffrey went on, "he also called me an ass during the lightweight four corner match. I had forgotten about that." Geoffrey continued to rub his chin his mind could almost be seen racing. Max said, "What you thinking Geoff?" Geoffrey said, "I tried to get a title match against Elton. He turned me down. I wonder how he'll feel if I rip his little buddy Patrick a new asshole in the ring? I bet he may even want to teach me a lesson wouldn't he?" Geoffrey was speaking aloud but more to himself than to Max, "So much so he may even consent to anything to get me in the ring...even a title match."

Max could not help but admire the way Geoffrey's mind worked, "Great idea but there is one thing..you have to beat Patrick." Geoffrey gave a wave of his hand, "A mere formality my little friend. I've watched him in practice. He's nothing great." Max hesitated before disagreeing with his older, wiser friend, "But Patrick has beat some heavy competition." Max leafed through his note pad and read, "Patrick has beaten Noel, Kyle.." Geoffrey cut him off, "I'll beat Patrick and beat him hard! Don't argue with me Max. Now, don't you have some work to do for Sandy and Hal?" Max looked a little hurt that Geoffrey would dismiss his concerns about Patrick's ability so quickly but nodded yes, Sandy and Hal did want him for something, more back ground checks no doubt. Geoffrey said, "Well then you better go see them. I'd hate for my friends to think I was monopolizing you." Max made to speak again but Geoffrey said, "No, enough! Off with you. And if you see Shawn send him to me." Max went away annoyed Geoffrey dismissed his thoughts and even more annoyed that he would want to "see" Shawn as he seemed to want to get rid of himself.

Geoffrey didn't have to wait long before he spotted Patrick with Joey and Dale. Geoffrey walked right up to Patrick with no intent on playing games. "Patrick right?",asked Geoffrey. Patrick nodded and said, "Yeah, Geoffrey..RIGHT?", mocking him. Geoffrey said, "Don't think I didn't hear you call me an ass during the LW 4-cornerns match. You think you can back up your big mouth in the ring you little snot!" Patrick wondered who Geoffrey was calling little as they were the same height and maybe Geoffrey was a few pounds heavier. Patrick opened his mouth to answer but Dale who knew Geoffrey much better as they both were from JW said, "Aaahh, Patrick maybe we should think about.." Geoffrey gave Dale an annoyed look saying, "Shut up Dale you perpetual loser! This is between Patrick and myself!" Patrick didn't like the way Geoffrey was speaking to him or to his friend. He accepted with pleasure, "Geoffrey. You have about the biggest mouth in this league. I'd be thrilled to have the honor of shutting it!" Geoffrey smiled as his mission was accomplished.

The two walked away to take care of the paperwork. Dale looked at Joey who said, "You're worried aren't you Dale?" Dale just nodded. Joey reluctantly admitted, "I am too."

"Our next match is middleweight event. First, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing in at 160 pounds...PATRICK!" Patrick was a long time favorite in TW. The crowd let him know that with a loud welcoming of cheers. "And, his opponent, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing in at 164 pounds and still undefeated in TW singles action...GEOFFREY!" Geoffrey was booed yet still respected by the fans. He had shown his skill several times now though his ring mannerisms left something to be desired. He was followed to the ring by long time friend Mason.

The two squared off for instructions. Both gave the other a dead set glare.

Dale and Joey took a seat beside Elton to observe their friend in what was sure to be a tough contest.

Geoffrey's LW pals Max and Shawn sat together on the other side of the ring. They didn't really like each other but neither did they have other friends and it beat sitting alone.

The bell rang and the match was on...

Geoffrey moved out slapping his firm pecs trying to intimidate but Patrick wasn't impressed in the slightest. He launched a flying drop kick that sent Geoffrey head over heels across the ring. He came up in a kneeling position only to see Patrick send a place kicker style kick into his upper abdomen. Geoffrey huffed out his air and Patrick jerked him up and back body dropped him to the mats.

Geoffrey made a pain filled grimace and clutched at his lower back. Patrick kept up the attack by sneaking in behind and wrapping his legs around Geoffrey's head. Patrick was far from being unskilled. He had beaten several good wrestlers, a fact Max had tried to warn Geoffrey of. Patrick also practiced constantly with Joey, Elton, Dane and Wesley. He had two moves he did very well. One was the full nelson and second was leg scissors, which at the moment were wrapped around Geoffrey's head!

Geoffrey's handsome face was turning a dark red color as Patrick poured on the pressure. Geoffrey kicked the mats and heaved his legs up and down. Everyone knew of Patrick's ability with the leg scissors and most watchers felt Patrick was about to get a very quick win. Dale and Joey already expressed such a thought. But Elton leaned forward watching intently as Geoffrey continued to flop about. It was not random squirming of pain as most thought. Elton knew better as Geoffrey heaved his body and flopped again.

Just as the referee was about to ask if Geoffrey wanted to submit he saw the trapped boy press his foot to the lower rope. He ordered the hold broken and Patrick was in a state of disbelief. He reluctantly let go and Geoffrey immediately slid under the ropes to the floor to catch his breath and regroup.

Mason came over and rubbed Geoffrey's back and spoke into his ear. Patrick looked annoyed that his opponent was getting his senses back. As the referee neared his counting Geoffrey climbed back in after making a show of getting the referee to move Patrick back.

The two closed together again. Patrick again went for a quick move, this time a clothesline. But Geoffrey figured he would try something. His ring know how enable him to react to the clothesline. He grabbed the outstretched arm, turned as he hunched forward tossing Patrick over in a classic back flip. Geoffrey maintained control of the arm and applied pressure. Patrick grimaced all the while cursing himself at being caught.

Geoffrey sent three hard kicks into Patrick's armpit then pulled him up again. Still behind Patrick Geoffrey used the arm to spin him into an Irish whip. But, in an unusual move, Geoffrey had positioned himself near enough to the ropes to allow Patrick to bounce off them but no so far away he had to let go of the arm. Patrick came bouncing back into a shoulder block. But with his arm still trapped Geoffrey was able to then lift him up and over in a back body drop. WHAM! Patrick went down hard!

Joey and Dale were stunned at the way Geoffrey turned things around. But Elton just watched still focused and said to nobody in particular, "The guy sure knows how to use that ring."

Geoffrey then dropped down with an elbow that slammed the back of Patrick's head. The blonde rolled over and hugged his head as Geoffrey stomped him in the back four times getting a nice grunt at each.

Geoffrey then circled Patrick. Geoffrey's heaving chest glistened as the sweat poured off him. He reached down and jerked Patrick up from the rear again. Showing some impressive strength he raised the boy up and brought him down over his knee in a gut buster. Patrick gasped at the drop and Geoffrey slid him off his knee.

Geoffrey looked out into the crowd. He knew exactly where Elton was sitting and he walked over to them taking Patrick in a side head lock with him. Geoffrey met Elton's eyes and turned slightly out of the referee's vision and sent a quick fist into Patrick's face. He allowed Patrick to fall then as he leaned over the ropes pointing a finger at Elton as if to signal that the champ was next.

Elton muttered to himself with teeth clenched, "Lousy little bastard!" Dale and Joey knew better than to even speak to Elton when he was this angry. They directed their attention back to the ring.

Patrick had moved a little away from Geoffrey as he had taunted Elton. Now Geoffrey turned to finish him off. He leaned over and grabbed a handful of wavy blonde locks. But Geoffrey got a big surprise when Patrick swiveled on his back and planted both feet into Geoffrey's stomach and grabbed both arms as well. Patrick monkey flipped Geoffrey across the ring and he landed hard on his back.

Geoffrey was hurt but still moved quickly and spun to get up. But he was greeted by a drop kick to the chest that sent him sprawling into a corner. Being the ring veteran he was Geoffrey still had enough in him to get up but he didn't do it quickly enough before Patrick's 160 pounds came crushing into him with a should ram squishing Geoffrey into the turnbuckles.

The crowd roared as Patrick came to life and cleanly jerked Geoffrey up into a crotch slam and deposited him hard. No sooner did Geoffrey hit than did Patrick land a spearing elbow into Geoffrey's gut. A quick pull had Geoffrey up to his feet and Patrick sent him spinning into another corner. WHAM! Geoffrey's chest slammed the turnbuckles and Patrick again launched himself. Again Geoffrey was crushed by Patrick's driving weight. Patrick pulled back and Geoffrey fell backwards landing flat on his back.

Patrick hopped up in the middle rope of the corner and raised his hands to the approval of the crowd. He did a quick leap and came splashing down across Geoffrey's.... Upraised knees!

Patrick's belly folded over the two hard knee joints. Geoffrey allowed him to fall limply to the mats. He struggled to stand as Patrick's attacks had taken a heavy toll on him but he sensed a win was near and that motivation spurred him on. He sent a quick stomp to the head to make sure Patrick stayed where he was for a moment before raising him up by the scruff of the neck. A hard knee raise to the now very hurt stomach of Patrick double him over. Geoffrey then took a firm hold of the boy's waist from behind and heaved him up in an over the back suplex. Patrick's back hit hard and Geoffrey allowed the momentum of Patrick's falling legs to carry his opponent over to his stomach.

Moving with amazing speed, given the punishment he had taken, Geoffrey got in behind Patrick and pulled the teen's legs back as he leaned his own weight down bending boy in half as he locked in his signature finisher, the scorpion death lock!

Patrick pounded the mats with both fists in futility. Geoffrey leaned back even more and Patrick could take no more. He screamed out his submission almost crying. The bell sounded, as Geoffrey released Patrick who feel in a heap between his legs. The announcer came on and said, "Here is your winner, by submission hold...GEOFFREY!"

The crowd booed but had to appreciate the moves Geoffrey used. Dale, Joey and Elton let out a collective groan as they made their way to the ring to see to their friend's condition.

Geoffrey saw the three approaching and quickly shook off the referee raising his arm. He moved back over Patrick and lifted him up. Post match punishment was often part of the game but had become rare. Joey and Dale were through the ropes as Geoffrey fired an elbow back into Patrick's gut sending him down again. Joey and Dale charged. Dale got a forearm to the throat while Joey took an upswinging boot to the belly. Elton was not far behind as he saw Joey and Dale both go down. Elton pulled up short not wanting to get caught by another quick move. Dale and Joey were back up but Mason then appeared and slammed Dale in the back with a hard kick. Joey turned and was promptly DDTed by the larger MW! Max and Shawn then appeared to support Geoffrey as well

Elton and Geoffrey stared each other down.

Joey and Dale were back to their feet but hedged off nailing Geoffrey as Mason, Max and Shawn kept them at bay for the moment. Elton signaled them that he had the situation in hand. Elton said to Geoffrey,"You got a real bad attitude boy! Its a shame too cause you're a damn good wrestler!" Geoffrey just smirked knowing his friends had the boys behind him under control and replied, "Well Mister Champ, maybe you need to put me in my place?" Elton knew he had just been played and was furious. But to make matters worse he was incensed that Patrick had paid the price in Geoffrey's scheme to get to him. Elton hated to let Geoffrey think he had succeeded but the idea of wiping the ring with the cocky rich boy was too much to pass up. "You want it? You got it! Just know this Geoffrey! Be careful what you wish for...you just may get it!"

Patrick, Dale and Joey rubbed their wounds as they closed around Elton. They all aided Patrick from the ring as Geoffrey stood with his friends. He had accomplished his mission. It had worked even better than he had hoped for. But something in Elton's parting words was bothering him. He was about to get exactly what he had wished for.
