Corwin&Drew vs Tyson&Brett...Prelim jimsub81
The second of the two tag team prelims was ready to begin. "The Bad Boys",Tyson and Brett were ready to go as were Corwin and Drew. After the blow up following the Wesley / Tommy bout had settled down things had gotten back a little more to normal as Ben had defeated Luke in a good match. Now the ring announcer said, "Our next event is a tag team match on the championship ladder with the winning team advancing to the finals next week. First at a combined weight of 325 pounds...TYSON AND BRETT..THE BAD BOYS!" Clearly the villains in the match they entered the ring as the crowd booed and jeered like crazy. They climbed into the ring and folded their arms and raised their noses giving an exaggerated look of arrogance, and did it quite well. The ring announcer continued, "And, their opponents, at a combined weight of 327 pounds...CORWIN AND DREW!" As the two handsome teens sprinted to the ring in their leopard skin loincloths the eruption of the audience was almost enough to blow the roof off. They hit the ring and vaulted the ropes showing grace and agility that no other wrestlers in the league could match. Although they didn't show it outwardly Tyson and Brett were a little intimidated. The two teams faced off for instructions. They were almost even in total weight and each team had a 16 and a 17 year old. Tyson and Brett clearly had more bulk which probably made them stronger but Corwin and Drew had speed, and agility. The bell rang and the second tag team prelim was on...
Brett started against Drew. The two 17 year olds circled cautiously. Brett lunged at Drew and the other boy sidestepped catching him in a side head lock. Brett felt Drew's strength but still managed to bulldog him into a neutral corner. Drew hit the turnbuckles harder than he expected and he relaxed his grip just a bit. Brett took the opening and escaped and fired a quick, shot jab to the lanky teen's gut. Drew buckled just a bit but was not about to let Brett take control so soon. He shot back with a punch of his own hitting Brett's upper abs. Brett punched again and Drew dodged it catching the boy's arm and twisting it behind his back. He turned Brett around and drove him to his knees as he applied pressure to the arm. Drew leaned his knee into Brett's back and forced him down to the mats. Brett screamed in pain as Drew twisted his right arm harder as his knee dug into his lower back. The referee asked if he submitted. Brett was too proud to submit so quickly, besides he thought given the way things were going for his group, Kevin would probably have him killed if they lost too. Brett lacked the ring experience to escape the hold and with his other arm motioned to Tyson to come in. Tyson did.
Drew saw him coming and released Brett and stood to face Tyson. The referee turned away to get Tyson out and Brett from his sitting position shot a hard punch to Drew's groin. Drew fell in a heap at the sharp pain. The ref turned to see Brett land a forearm block to the side of Drew's head. Brett hoisted Drew to his feet and whipped him to the ropes nailing him with clothesline to the chest flattening him. Brett dropped a full force power punch the lean teen's gut and raised him again shooting him to the ropes once more. Even though he was hurt Drew knew what the deal was and he grabbed the ropes preventing his rebound. He watched as Brett delivered his clothesline to nothing but air. A surprised Brett then saw Drew hold the ropes and jab his long, strong legs straight into his chest. Brett fell back and Drew tagged in Corwin. Brett rolled after the kick and tagged Tyson. Now the two 16 year olds went at each other.
Tyson offered his hands in a test of strength. Corwin was cautious and moved to accept it. But Tyson backed off and fired a hard boot to Corwin's belly. Surprised by the trickery Corwin doubled over his breath momentarily gone. The audience booed at the dirty trick. Tyson grabbed the boy's blond locks and pulled his head back. He then landed a hard chop to Corwin's chest that flattened him. Tyson then pulled Corwin up and shot him to the ropes. He aimed a perfect elbow to Corwin's chest as he bounced back flattening Corwin once again. Tyson looked very pleased with himself as he stood over Corwin brushing his hands together as if he had just taken out the trash. The audience booed and Tyson soaked it up, and Corwin recovered and played possum pretending to still be hurt. So far Corwin and Drew had not played their game and had allowed themselves to be sucked into Tyson and Brett's plan. Corwin changed that as Tyson dropped an elbow meant to drill Corwin's gut but Corwin rolled out from under it. Tyson hit nothing but mat and Corwin pounced on him like a cougar drilling Tyson's gut with a knee instead. Corwin was up in a flash and dropped an elbow to the side of the head. As Tyson gripped at his hurting head Corwin was up again and dropping another knee to the exposed abs. Now the crowd that had been unusually quiet started up as their favorites began to take control.
Corwin pulled Tyson up and whipped him to the ropes. As Tyson bounced back Corwin stuck out a leg and his foot caught Tyson square in the jaw. Tyson dropped like a sack of flour. Corwin picked him up again and walked him over to Drew. The tag was made and Corwin stretched Tyson over his knee as Drew climbed to the top rope. Drew jumped and aimed a double ax handle at the vulnerable, wide open gut. Tyson felt the ax handle rock his insides as Corwin pushed him off his knee. Drew lifted Tyson and slammed a hard forearm to his head then whipped him to a neutral corner. Tyson hit chest first and fell backward dazed and hurting. Drew wanted to end this match quick.
Showing great wrestling knowledge as well as strength he lifted Tyson into a piledriver position and executed it perfectly. He then rolled the limp body over and locked in a camel clutch. Tyson was in no condition to free himself and was ready to submit when Brett attacked from behind. Brett grabbed Drew under his arms and pulled him off Tyson then slammed him face first to the mats. Corwin then charged Brett but the tough teen swung his knee into the charging boy's belly. Corwin was now down too. The referee got Brett out of the ring then Corwin. Brett had pulled Tyson closer to their corner and all a battered Tyson had to do was stick out his hand to tag Brett in legally. Brett went after Drew who was now on his hands and knees still shaking his head from the unexpected face slam. A hard kick from Brett impacted Drew's underbelly and flipped the boy over. Drew lay stunned and defenseless as Brett dropped knee to his chest then almost immediately punched the stomach. He pulled Drew up and whipped him toward Tyson in his corner. Tyson was just barely recovered but had presence of mind to stick out a foot to spear Drew's gut as Brett flung him. The hard boot plowed deep into Drew's innards and he fell gasping hard. Brett tagged in Tyson so they could deliver their trademark move; the double handed ax chops off the ropes. Tyson took Drew's left arm while Brett took the right and both threw him into the ropes. Despite the pain he felt Drew knew what they had planned. As he bounced off the ropes Tyson and Brett each aimed their ax handle as Drew's midsection. Drew vaulted over the lowered arms like an Olympic hurdler. He hit the ropes on the other side of the ring back first and bounced back at the surprised Bad Boys nailing each with a clothesline to the throat flattening both of them. He then tagged in Corwin quickly.
Corwin knew Tyson was the legal man so he pounced on him with a heavy elbow to his chest. Tyson was still not fully recovered from his last time in the ring as Corwin rolled him into yet another camel clutch. Tyson couldn't take the assault and before Brett could interfere Tyson call out his submission. Corwin released Tyson as the bell sounded. Brett went to attack Corwin from behind but Drew's strong hands caught his punch. Drew shot an elbow to the jaw of the boy who was about to blind side his partner and best friend. Brett went down and was out of commission as was Tyson. Corwin and Drew had their arms raised. The crowd was going nuts. The winning team smiled broadly and hugged each other. As they left the ring the audience was still cheering madly for them. But the question remained; who would they cheer for next week, them or the wildly popular Cody and Dane? Cody and Dane, having more than casual interest, watched the match intently. As Corwin and Drew passed them all four teen's eyes met. No words were spoken but slight smiles were exchanged as were slight nods of approval indicating respect. Both teams knew next week was going to be the toughest test they had ever faced. It promised to be a tremendous match.
