MWC Match 2: Luke vs. Daniel vs. Frank RyanCarrWeber
Anyone who would like a description of the beating which Jerred received at the hands of Kevin, Brett, Tyson, Martin, Rusty and Pat, respond to this match saying you want to read it and I may post it. A week passes between the Jerred/Brett match and Jerred's final match for the MW title, and that's how long it takes the amateur to recover from the beating he took. So I may post that, if there's interest, as a flash-back after the MW Mini-Tournament is done. --RCW
-------------------------------------
Shortly after the first match for the middleweight title had concluded, and just moments after Kevin's gang of friends had jovially welcomed Jerred amont them and led him off to 'celebrate' his victory, Luke, Daniel and Frank were preparing to get on with their match. The three heavier middleweights held no grudges, had no alliances other than a passing acquaintance between Frank and Luke, who both had younger family in the league. None of the three had had very many matches, and none really had any expectations for this one - except to win. Frank was sure his superior musculature would give him the edge, though he knew his opponents were both also quite strong. Daniel was confident, too, but not because of muscle - he knew he was, in general, more of an athlete than the other two, and was pretty sure he could outmaneuver them. As for Luke, he was just sure - as always - that he'd come out on top and have something to celebrate with his girlfriend, amanda. The three teens were introduced, and the rules explained: no double-teaming, no refusing to tag in, no lowblows, no closed-fist hitting, and the rule about dq's resulting in a start-over from the last pinfall. The wrestlers agreed, and Daniel steped out of the ring to let the other two start the action. The bell rang, and the match began...

Luke and Frank locked up at the center of the ring, and the more muscular teen, who'd been in TW since its inception, powered Luke back into the ropes, where the ref called for a break. Frank broke, but tossed Luke into the opposite ropes and met his return with an arm-drag takedown. Luke displayed his agility by rolling right back to his feet, and Frank displayed his quick-thinking with another arm-drag which had a more visible effect on Luke's lower back. Luke still got to his feet quickly, but this time Frank was waiting with a headlock which he rode for over a minute, squeezing Luke's head and twisting his neck unnaturally. Luke finally pushed Frank off and into a corner, but when Luke followed with a body-block, all he got was an aching chest as it smashed into the top turnbuckle.
Frank was on Luke immediately, with a knee to the lower back. Turning the other middleweight around, the muscleteen fired Luke into the opposite corner and followed him with a clothesline that missed harshly as Luke used Frank's own dodge against him. Now Frank's was the chest that was aching and Luke went for it with a chop that resounded through the crowded rec building. Four more chops had Frank's well-developed pecs bright pink and stinging enough to distract Frank from the hip-toss that put him on the mat. Luke dropped an elbow to the chest and pulled Frank to his feet and into a painful twisted armbar, in which position he led Frank to the corner and tagged in Daniel.
Daniel entered with a forearm to Frank's exposed torso and took the armbar from Luke. He led Frank by his pained arm to the center of the mat, where he pulled the junior into position for a suplex, which laid him out on the mat. Frank was aching as Daniel got up and measured him for an echo of Luke's earlier elbow to the chest. Another, and Daniel decided to go for more height. Backing into a corner, the senior pulled himself sitting on the top turnbuckle, and then stood on the second from which he leapt for another elbow drop. Frank saw it coming, though, and rolled out of the way. As Daniel nursed his knocked funnybone, Frank got to his hands and knees, and then to his knees alone, and then to his feet. By the time Daniel was back on his feet, Luke was already on his way through the ropes.
Daniel met Luke with a blow to the head, which the ref complained about only until Luke returned it, and the two began a volley of slugs to each other's foreheads. Luke ultimately won out, sending Daniel into the corner with an aching jaw. Luke took his opponent by the arm and irish whipped him into the opposing corner, following with a shoulder-block to the jock's chest. Daniel was winded and Luke had little difficulty picking him up for a powerslam in the center of the ring. An attempted pin was easily kicked out of, and Luke pulled Daniel back to his feet a full-nelson was applied and Daniel, as hard as he tried to get out, was stuck in the painful hold. No one's ever submitted to a full nelson, though, and the senior held on until Luke released the hold, leaving Daniel's shoulders aching.
The jock spun around with a right to Luke's gut, which would have taken him by surprise had Daniel not missed due to the pain in his shoulders. As was, Daniel stumbled into Luke, who picked him up for a sidewalk slam. A legdrop and a lateral press produced only a two-count, and Luke decided to let Frank have his turn. A tag was made and Frank entered with a stomp to the back of Daniel, who had gotten to his hands and knees. The jock fell to the mat, and Fran dropped to sit on Daniel's lower back. Grabbing the senior's wrists, the muscleteen bent Daniel's arms behind him for a modified surfboard. He also pulled back, lifting Daniel's chest off the mat and making his already-pained shoulders do the added work of supporting Daniel's weight.
Daniel bit back the urge to submit for as long as he could, which was over a minute, but ultimately the pain in his shoulders won out over his constitution and he shouted his submission to the more muscular teen's hold. The bell rang, signifying the first fall, and Frank helped a beaten Daniel to his feet. "Good match, man," both Luke and Frank encouraged Daniel as he left the ring and hit the showers. The bell rang again for the next fall to begin, and Luke and Frank met in the center of the ring, ready to see who would go on to the Middleweight Championship final.
Luke and Frank locked up at the center of the ring, neither giving any ground to his opponent until Luke shifted his weight in an attempt to knee Frank in his hard abs. Instead, Frank took advantage and tripped Luke to the mat, tumbling onto him in an awkward sbp. The ref looked for a pin, but there was none as Luke bridged up below Frank, and Frank held on for the brief ride. The muscleteen didn't quite know what to do as Luke held the bridge, and eventually Frank just got off. When Luke tried to get up, he was met with a kick to the chest by Frank that put him on his back on the mat. Another unforgiving stomp to the chest and Frank was on a roll.
He pulled Luke to his feet and threw the softer teen into the ropes, maneuvering him on his return up into the first gorilla press seen in TW. Frank held Luke aloft for almost thirty seconds, showing off his strength, before dropping the teen harshly to the canvas. Luke landed on his side, and Frank rolled him back for a pin that only reached two as Luke kicked out. Frank pulled Luke to his feet and tucked his head under his arm for a suplex. Luke, however, grabbed Frank's speedo and held on, not letting the muscleteen lift him for the move. Frank got frustrated and wasn't quick enough to block a suplex by Luke that broke, finally, his momentum.
Luke was breathing hard and Frank was arching from the sting in his lower back as the ref began to count for both downed wrestlers. Luke, by a few seconds, got to his feet first and guided Frank into a corner, where he assaulted the muscleteen with several harsh gutpunches despite warnings from the referee about closed fists. Luke whipped his opponent into the opposite ropes, and carefully approached, dodging an attempt by Frank to kick him away. A few more gutpunches and Luke wrapped an arm under Frank's crotch, picking him up for a slam.
Luke slammed the muscleteen upside-down onto the top turnbuckle, guiding him to a sitting position on it. Standing on the second turnbuckle, behind Frank, Luke wrapped his opponent's arm around his neck and fell back for a vicious belly-to-back suplex from the second rope. Frank was feeling the wear as Luke dropped a heavy leg accross his back (Frank had rolled over his head onto his front from the momentum of the suplex). Luke dragged Frank into position for a high-risk maneuver which didn't seem to have much risk as Luke effortlessly dropped an elbow to Frank's lower back. Frank rolled over, and strained to get up, right into a bearhug from Luke, who had been waiting for the muscular junior to rise.
Frank struggled in the bearhug, but lacked the energy at this point to worm out, so he was stuck until Luke slammed his lower back into the top turnbuckle. Hiptossing Frank to the center of the ring, Luke wrapped him up in a cradle to finish the match. The ref got to two and a half before Frank, in a last-ditch effort to get back into the match, rolled Luke into a cradle of his own. The ref again counted two and then Luke, incredulous, powered out. Luke was to his feet by the time Frank was on his knees and yet the almost-pinned wrestler got the initiative with a hard right to Luke's soft lower gut. Luke doubled over, and Frank got off a half-assed DDT that nonetheless served to stun his opponent.Luke didn't have time to lament his near-win as Frank pulled energy from seemingly nowhere and put every muscle in his well-defined body into pulling Luke to his feet and powerbombing him to the mat. A quick ascent to top rope got Frank a tremendous legdrop accross Luke's chest, and a tight cradle was all that was needed to secure Frank's upset victory as the ref counted those three numbers that signified the end of the second preliminary match of the Middleweight Mini-Tournament. Frank helped a dazed Luke to his feet and back to the changing area. They exchanged pointers, criticisms and advice. And Frank promised both Luke and Daniel title shots not if, but *when* he won the title from Jerred.
Frank looked around for Jerred, to wish him luck in preparing for next week, but couldn't find him. Jerred, as the reader is already well aware, was busy getting beaten on by Kevin's posse.
