A Controversial Decision jeremy_mcdadian

Following Cody's first defense of his heavyweight title, his defeated challenger, Kale, had to be practically carried back to the changing area by his tag partner, Trace. The latter teen's father was there as well, and, having watched Cody's abuse of Kale's shoulder, insisted on checking it out. A small amount of prodding confirmed the doctor's suspicion, and he informed his son's friend that his shoulder had been dislocated.

Dr. Riley, Trace's dad, sought out the Chair of TW, and they conferred briefly in a corner of the room.

Meanwhile, Cody had come over to where Trace and Kale were getting changed, the latter still very much in pain. The champion addressed Kale, "good match, man... hope I didn't rough you up too bad." Cody had meant the jibe in jest, of course, but the tag team just looked at him, snickering.

Then Dr. Riley returned, the Chair in tow. Riley was beaming at his son and Kale as the Chair pulled Cody aside.

"Cody... we really need to stop having these sidebars, you know? Listen, I have some bad news... during the match, you dislocated Kale's shoulder. Some people's shoulders are prone to dislocation -- his isn't. Technically, this constitutes an injury."

Cody began to object, but the chair held up a hand to quiet him, "It's not the end of the world. But I'm going to have to suspend you, for four Saturdays - a month is the standard for this variety of injury."

"But I was just wrestling!" Cody replied, more loudly than the Chair would have liked. "It's just part of the match... you gotta take some pain."

The Chair replied, "Cody. This is a Teens Wrestling League. We are not hardcore in normal matches. There is too much heavy hitting going on lately, and today's injury needs to be addressed, and used as an example. You're suspended for one month. Your first Saturday back, you'll have to defend both of your titles or lose those jackets."

The Chair didn't wait for more objection - he walked away to prevent having to hear it. Trace and Kale, accompanied by Dr. Riley, left, snickering. Cody was furious. He punched the nearest locker, leaving a slight dent in it, and stormed out. He could not believe this.
