Elton and Patrick Hanging Out I kon_el_superboy
Three days after their introductory match, Elton and Patrick sat in Elton's new apartment. He had just moved out of his parent's house and had set up a cool hangout. He was starting college in the Fall and wanted his own place to impress the ladies.
Patrick, at 16, thought it was awesome. He knew he was a couple of years from moving out. The combatants had become fast friends. After the match, Elton had asked Patrick if he wanted to grab a burger. Patrick readily agreed.
After talking, it became apparent to both that they were on the same page, both in life and in wrestling. Both were laid-back guys, very casual. Neither kid had made any friends in the TWF yet; neither wanted to be part of a "faction".
Patrick said to Elton, "I don't want to start any wars. But I'm worried about not getting any matches. I'm also worried about the amount of cheating and the double teams. If I challenge one guy, I end up wrestling three. It's like no one running the place cares as long as it fills seats."
Elton replied simply, "Man, don't worry about it. I got your back. If you're getting your ass whooped fair and square, you're on your own. But any crap takes place and I'm there." As was usually the case with Elton, after he spoke, that was it. Patrick liked his directness a lot. Patrick agreed completely. He would never run-in or pull a dirty trick for Elton but he would back him up.
Yesterday, Patrick had used the formidable charm skills that came with blond hair, blue eyes and deep dimples. He had schmoozed the official TWF statistics from the female stats keeper. He produced them proudly to his new friend. Elton was impressed. Patrick and Elton were a real team now. The two middleweights had started training together. Elton was a great sparring partner. Elton and Patrick could both take what they dished out.
For his part, Patrick was happy to just chill with Elton. But what Patrick admired about him most was that he was a great planner. Elton had good ideas on whom to challenge. Now, with stats in hand, Patrick could put a name to the qualities Elton wanted in an opponent. Elton thanked him but Patrick was pleased to do it. He respected Elton and knew Elton would not hang out with anyone he didn't respect in return.
Now, Patrick and Elton were relaxing, going over the middleweight ranks. Elton had insisted on fighting an undefeated opponent next. He wanted to make his mark immediately.
Patrick said, "Well there are a few. Ben is 1-0. Let's see, Drew is 1-0 ..."
Elton shook his head, "No, no, no. I'm 1-0. Why do I want to fight somebody with my same record? I only want guys with three or more matches under their belt. Got it?" Elton let out an exasperated sigh. Elton got off the couch and changed the CD.
Patrick smiled. He replied, "I got it. Man, how come you hang out with me if I'm so stupid?"
Elton turned and gave his usual smirk, "Because I feel sorry for you. You need guidance and I'm the only one who can provide it. You're like my charity case."
Patrick put down the pen and paper. He charged Elton, tackling him onto the floor. Patrick seized the bigger boy in a headlock. He cranked it hard and rubbed Elton's head with his knuckles. Laughing, Patrick asked, "Who's the charity case? Who is the charity case? The only charity case I see is the guy getting his ass kicked in his own place!"
Elton cursed and got ready to fight back.
Patrick cranked on the headlock. Elton groaned as he did. Elton struggled to get to his knees. He finally slipped out of the hold and put Patrick in a hammerlock with his right hand. Elton reached over and locked his left arm around Patrick's neck.
"Man, you never learn, do you?" Elton taunted from behind his blond friend. Patrick loved wrestling for fun. He had even beaten Elton once. Once. Otherwise Elton had handed the kid his hat every time. In three days, Patrick had started something with Elton in this apartment, in the gym, in the locker room, in the shower, on the street, wherever there was room for him to try his luck.
Elton admired the boy's tenacity but that didn't stop him from wrenching back on the blond kid's neck and up on his arm. Patrick was trapped - his arm muscles pumped and expanded, but he could not escape. Instead of submitting, he drove his feet down and pushed back. He forced himself back onto Elton who crashed his back onto the floor. The sudden jarring motion loosened the hold enough for Patrick to break free.
Patrick scrambled to his feet. He smiled at Elton. "You know, now that I've whooped you once, I know how."
Elton just nodded, not needing to remind Patrick of the ten times he had beaten him. He gave Patrick his stare of death. Patrick broke out laughing. The look was intimidating but Elton used it every time they fought. Now it just made Patrick crack up.
Elton smiled, raised his right hand and pointed at Patrick. He said, "You attack a man in his home? That's cold, man. You're disrespecting me. I'm gonna have to kill you."
Elton removed his shirt, exposing his rock hard torso. He bounced his big pecs and did a flex pose for Patrick. His abs rippled as he faced Patrick in his shorts. Patrick waved his hand as if Elton's impressive body was nothing. He stripped off his shirt and mimicked his friend's pose.
Elton took one look at Patrick's tight wrestler's body and burst out laughing. Patrick put his hands on his hips and tried to look intimidating.
Elton said, "You sure you didn't put rocks in your pockets when you got weighed? Because you sure don't look like any middle weight."
Patrick made a rude hand gesture but laughed. He knew he had a hard body but trashtalking had become part of their game. Patrick walked up to Elton and put his hands up for a test of strength.
Elton shook his head and said, "Sure, little guy. You want it, you got it."
Patrick and Elton locked hands and went at each other. Patrick was straining hard as their torsos crashed together. He knew he had little shot of winning this test but it was something he and Elton had never tried. Patrick felt himself improving greatly with each and every play match he started with Elton.
Patrick stepped back and smashed his chest into Elton's trying to break Elton's concentration. Their pecs bounced off each other. Patrick tried to turn the grip to give him better leverage but Elton was wise to his ploy. Elton twisted quickly and forced Patrick into a palms-up position.
Patrick yelped in sudden pain as he could no longer get any leverage. Elton quickly forced him to his knees and kept the pressure up.
Patrick felt his wrists aching and reluctantly said, "okay, okay. I give!"
Elton let the grip loosen and smiled at his buddy. Elton smacked Patrick's head. "Pathetic. Why'd you even try that move?"
Patrick knelt before Elton and shook out his wrists. As Elton stood in front of him confident at another win, Patrick smirked. He charged his shoulder in Elton driving him onto the couch!Patrick said, "Did I forget to mention that this is a best two out of three today? Wednesday is always best two of out three, my friend."Patrick jumped back and pulled hard on Elton's legs, bringing him crashing onto the floor. He leapt up and crashed an elbow into Elton's big round chest.
Patrick wasted no time. He jumped onto Elton and clamped his large hands over Elton's larger pecs! He squeezed tighter and tighter! The smaller blond muscle boy had learned not to mess with Elton's abs so he was trying everywhere else. He saw that his claw was having an effect.
The two boys rolled around. Patrick kept the pressure on, punishing Elton with moves that kept the big boy down and off-balance. Patrick worked Elton for ten minutes before finally trying his new idea for a finisher.
Elton grunted as Patrick forced him onto his stomach. Patrick straddled his friend and bent both of Elton's up his back in a double hammerlock.
Elton kicked the floor as Patrick straddled his back and cinched the hold tight. Elton was discovering there was no escaping Patrick's hammerlock but he refused to give in. He refused to submit despite the pressure.
Patrick leaned down and whispered in Elton's ear, "Now, back to the original question … what were you saying? I'm what, again?" Patrick secured Elton's arms with his knees, body and one hand. He quickly used the moment and slapped the back of Elton's head with his free hand, taunting the bigger boy.
Elton grimaced and concentrated. He used every ounce of muscle he had but couldn't power out of the hammerlock. He was an experienced amateur. He twisted and turned, trying every counter he knew.
Patrick moved both hands back to Elton's wrists, happy to have been able to taunt Elton without losing the hold. Elton grimaced and said, "All right, all right. You got me. We're even. For the moment."
Patrick laughed and slid off Elton. Patrick had a huge grin, looking like the proverbial cat that swallowed the canary.
Elton was surprised that Patrick would pull a stunt like that but he was also glad. Elton had become friends with Patrick because Elton thought Patrick was an awesome wrestler and a nice guy. A guy he could trust in the trenches. But Elton thought Patrick lacked the killer instinct. This little surprise tackle was a good sign he was coming around.
Elton decided to turn the tables. He pretended to get up slowly, but instead, Elton surprised Patrick. Elton swept his left leg out, tripping the blond wrestler. Patrick fell back hard onto the thin mats that carpeted Elton's place. Elton leapt on top of him and splashed him hard.
Patrick gasped for air. Elton picked his friend up by his short blond hair and delivered a hard knee to the sternum. Patrick doubled over and Elton swept Patrick's feet out from under him again.
Patrick fell on his back. Before he could react, Elton was pulling him up again. Patrick ran a hand to his back and grimaced. Elton backed off and smiled. He made a "bring it on" hand motion.
Patrick smiled broadly. "That wasn't nice. Now I'm forced to get mean!"Patrick charged at Elton but Elton moved out of the way and delivered another knee to Patrick's gut. "You call that mean?" Elton laughed as Patrick just gasped.
Elton stepped up and hoisted Patrick onto his shoulders. He stretched Patrick over his shoulders in a torture rack.Patrick struggled valiantly but he knew there was no escape. He quickly submitted before Elton decided to crank up the pressure. Elton lowered Patrick down onto his back. Elton straddled his buddy and held him in a schoolboy pin. Patrick was pouting but otherwise accepting of another defeat. At least he had gotten one fall.
Elton gave him a little slap across the face and said, "You're getting better." He patted Patrick's pecs and he got
up to grab his shirt. Elton threw Patirck his shirt, put on his own and collapsed, winded, onto the couch after
their impromptu best two out of three.
Elton looked confidently at Patrick, "Oh yeah I almost forgot. I said, you are my charity case and I just proved it again. Now don't make me regret taking you under my wing." He winked at Patrick.
Patrick had put his shirt on and stretched back out on the chair. Elton said, "At practice today we have to find you a new finisher. I like that hammerlock. You might get a real submission with that. But man, you have to stop listening to that coach of yours. Powerslam, my ass. No scrawny little 160 lbs featherweight like you can put anyone down with a powerslam! You don't have the weight behind it. You definitely need a new move. We'll work on that hammerlock later at the gym."
Patrick shook his head. He lifted his shirt and showed off his six-pack. "Scrawny? Man, this bod is 100% muscle. I'm like you without the flab." Patrick grinned as Elton flipped him off.
The two boys trashtalked each other's bodies for another ten minutes. Patrick finally said, "Look, let's get back to the stats. Only Frank and Noel are undefeated, both at 3-0. But Frank, as the champ, is out of the question for now."
Elton said, "So Noel it is."
Patrick hemmed and hawed. "Actually, I was going to challenge Noel, if you don't mind. Of his 3 wins, two came against a musclehead named Vinny."
Elton said, "What's Vinny's record?" Patrick held up his fingers to make a zero, then three fingers, then one, signifying a 0-3-1 record.
Elton laughed, "So what you are telling me is that there is NO competition in this league for me!"
Patrick said, "Hold on, yes there is. I recommend you challenge Jordan. He's 2-2. He won his last match using a Boston Crab finisher. That sounds impressive. He's 5'10", 181 lbs and a cocky prettyboy. He's also a little soft in the middle, I hear."
Elton rolled his eyes. He didn't want to face some soft prettyboy. Patrick said, "Hear me out. This is only your second match. Your one victory was against a rookie. Start with Jordan. Learn the ropes and moves. This guy has fought four matches. He knows a thing or two. Then challenge Noel, who will be 3-1, after facing me." Patrick allowed himself a smile. He continued, "Then, you will challenge Daryl. If you beat him, you can't be denied a shot at the title. You can fight Frank then, assuming he still has the jacket. Frank's a tough customer. You'll want experience under your belt. Plus, a title shot after four matches is still pretty good, bud."
Elton asked, "Who's Daryl? Why is he so special?"
Patrick smiled, "Daryl has a record of 6-3. But he's lost to heavyweights. He's the biggest, most muscular middleweight in the TWF. Guy is almost a heavyweight. And he's tough and mean."
Elton nodded, satisfied that he could have the title very soon if he worked hard. "Okay. Now what's your plan, blondie?"
Patrick said, "Well, unlike you, I'm in no rush for a title. I want to build my experience. But your strategy of only fighting winners sounds like a good one to get the best experience. As you say, losers can only teach me to lose. So I'm going to challenge Noel. Then I'm going to try and face Timon. He's 2-1 and about my size but more of a bodybuilder. Big chest, hard body. I figure after that, if all goes well, I'll challenge Jerred. He's 2-1 right now and his only loss was to Frank for the title. After that, I'll wait and take the title from you."
Elton made a rude gesture with his hand but nodded in agreement. "Sounds cool. Looks like we've got some action coming up. Let's hit the gym and find you a real finisher." The two friends argued about the finisher the whole way to the gym.
